Absolute garbage. Returned my BP monitor

I bought the WA 1700 on some high praise and recommendation from a nurse I know. Raved about its accuracy and the app integration. Then I went to download the app, read the reviews, got really angry at the ensh*tifacation of medical devices now, and boxed the BP monitor up and printed out a return label for it. Bought the Omron Platinum for $30 cheaper. Their app has like 50k reviews at 4.7 stars. I never in a million years thought I should check the apps ratings before buying a BP monitor. Lost my $130 sale and drove me directly to a competitor. Congratulations Welch Allen.

Terrible upgrade to original Welch Allyn Home app

As a physician I have trusted Welch Allyn equipment for decades. Three years ago I purchased the Welch Allyn 1700 series digital BP device. Paired with original Welch Allyn Home app(free) was both accurate varified with our clinic devices with easy to use app that linked with my Apple Health and allowed exports for further analysis. Last week purchased same model for my wife and noticed original app was no longer available. Read that company said was no longer compatible but I continue to use daily with my iPhone 16 pro without any issues. Welch Allyn Home VSee app was recommended as an upgrade but is actually a real downgrade. Layout not as good and now requires a $39/year subscription to link with Apple Health. As it stands I do not recommend purchasing this product unless they bring back the old app at no charge. Suggest looking at OMRON instead!

New app is worthless

App no longer syncs with Apple
Health. I would not recommend any of their products until this is fixed. My $21 scale offers more than Baxter.

Does not sync with health app

Old app was better used to sync to health app and exported data. Bought this because it synced with health app. Now that has been taken away from something I own and paid for. They should refund my purchase of Welch Allyn blood pressure cuff.

Not as good as last version

I use this only for bp. Have to sync each reading. Can’t delete a reading. Can’t send data from app-have to use their portal. Cumbersome to use. Will purchase different bp monitor now.

Needs a rewrite. Terrible UI.

I’ve used Welch Allyn 1700 BP machine for the last 5 years and the old application was simple, intuitive and easy to use. The new application is anything but. Now you have to navigate multiple screens to just log a reading. Why? You can no longer upload data via the iPhone app. You need to log into their website portal download your data. Why? And the new application no later integrates with the Apple Health application on the iPhone. Why? Also, Baxter just turns off data access to its legacy customers without any warning. I would generate reports for my doctor before my appointment but guess what…no longer works. Why? Sorry, you have to navigate the Baxter Corp world to get product support phone number to find out what’s going on. They have your email address from when you set up your user account when you bought the product. Why don’t they contact you? Not impressed.

Bad app

The company that bought Welch Allyn has an app that does not support home users. The old app graphed and allowed user notes such as “on med” or “off med”. The new app is IMPOSSIBLE to pair to an iphone and has NO INSTRUCTIONS for that. I have been all over AI, searching, and have followed numerous threads and pdf’s trying to pair. The old app paired with no problems. I deleted and reloaded the app several times, deleted and re-entered my account several times, restarted the phone several times and the bugger still won’t pair!

Useless

Does take readings from BP cuff directly. You still have to manually enter the readings. This is a useless app. I’m deleting it and will buy a different brand BP cuff than Welch Allen since they don’t even support their own products. Don’t waste your time with this app ir the Welch Allen brand. Not worth it. I’m in the medical field and cannot recommend their products.

Absolutely Terrible

Update Jun 10: Finally just deleted this thing. Not even worth trying.

Update Jun 2: I’m sorry for describing this app as “awful”. It’s much worse than that. It’s sad that so many people need to rely on this for their wellbeing.

Original Apr 30: Don’t waste your time. This app is awful in just about every aspect. It looks like the people at Welch Allyn got taken in by an app development scammer.

Bring Back the Original App

I discovered Welch Allyn had abandoned users of its Home app when it stopped working and I called phone support. This new app is terrible—unnecessarily opaque user interface, non-intuitive ordering of data, and get this—no manual. No manual! Not even a crude FAQ file. Oh, and forget about your old data in the Home app. It isn’t transferable to the new app.

Useless Junk

I’ve read the reviews and what everyone is saying is exactly correct. It’s so bad I deleted the app and just manually enter the results into Apple Health.

Lacks features, etc.

The app is not intuitive to use. It does not average your blood pressure reading. It requires a WiFi internet connection to obtain BP reading and see your data. I can’t share my readings when in the doctor’s office.

Hate It

I really hate this useless app. The old version worked. This new version doesn’t work nearly as well. Trying to get it to connect, then sync raised my blood pressure. Most of the time I have to manually log my readings, therefore making this app useless. The old app connected and synced automatically. What’s the point of downgrading to manual input. Stupid!!

New app is horrendous

Old Apple I was able to easily auto record my blood pressure. Now it’s manual input only. Why in heaven’s name would you update the app and make it worse . Fix it please .

Old app stunk and was still better

This new app is worthless. The old app wasn’t great, but it was a rock star compared to this garbage. I’ve deleted this useless trash from my phone.

Not acceptable

OMG. Hard to believe a medical device company shipped this. The old Welch Allyn Home app showed every reading with date, exact time, systolic, diastolic, and heart rate. The new app shows two dots on a graph and only one blood pressure number. I feel abandoned by this company. Doctors want all of the information, not just part of it. The old app was bad. This one is so much worse. I am blown away that anyone thought this was acceptable.

The new app is awful

Bring back the old Welch Allyn app!
The new app won’t record my BP and heart rate readings together plus I can’t email them to myself to provide a chart to my doctor’s portal! Lost all my previous records as well. Absolutely terrible.

Worthless

Bring back the old WelchAllyn Home app. It put BP and pulse readings as a list or a graph. It not only showed the date but also the time of the reading. This app does not do that nor did it download any previous reading so those measurements are all lost. Can no longer email 30 days or 60 or all readings to myself to be able to print for a record and to take a copy to my doctors. Basically, this makes my WelchAllyn 1700 BP monitor junk unless I want to hand make my own chart and write everything down.

Worthless

What happened to the old app? Have used it for several years and it worked just fine. Used to take my doctor a list of blood pressure and pulse for a week a month or a year. Where is that option now? If you can’t make it better then don’t bother.

Horrible

Worst app on my phone. This POS replaced an app that actually worked flawlessly so of course you replace it with this POS that doesn't stay connected resulting in no data uploading. I mo longer use your apps and now manually load data. Waste of time and energy. I do not recommend this app!
