Useful way to keep track of local news

This app is very useful. I can check it once or twice a day and have a pretty good idea of what’s going on on the Big Island.

Great app

Works as it’s supposed to. Rarely has any problems loading the current or back issues of West Hawaii Today.

What happened??

I can no longer read online without a subscription but there is no where to sign up for one.

WWT REVIEW

WWT has come a long way to be a more balanced newspaper. It seems to invite more credible opinions to cover both sides. This is what we need in this state to be fair

Good local news

Good local news

Ipad Friendly

I can read in landscape mode, which is a rarity among some newspaper apps.

Hawaii news

Like the sports clips and the kona history

Daily dose of tranquility

Love our connection to paradise, from daily "island life" to the right natural balance of news and what really matters...

Reader enjoys West Hawaii Today

I anticipated moving to the Big Island for years and found the newspaper gave me a sense of connection to my new home years before moving. The local focus, sprinkled with national news, is now a must read over morning coffee.

Nice app

I was a long time subscriber to the print issue. I’ve been following the website and recently got the app. It opens to non-“top stories” that are pretty much impossible for me to find. I always go to the “print edition” for news instead, and enjoy reading the paper that way, and like to see the ads as well! I wish that there was a “breaking news” section for stories that are updated during the day. I first check the website for those, and then a Honolulu news source when I don’t see info.

Hawaii connection

Glad to be in Hawaii virtually

Needs Work

This app has plenty of potential. 6 months ago, it’s worst problem was outdated news. It used to pop up ads randomly and I am okay with that. Now with iOS 14 they have bigger ad problems popping up constantly.
I really wish someone would take charge who can care about functionality and user interface. Maybe solicit some beta testers if they don’t have the resources to do it themselves.

Could be valuable but it’s badly designed

A news outlet that focuses on West Hawaii could be a great resource but this app is poorly designed. News stories aren’t organized for easy reading, the format looks like it was designed by middle school students, and much of the “news” is out of date—especially problematic when I’m looking for arts and entertainment events. How helpful is it to learn that a musician is performing—three weeks ago? With even a small redesign and someone pulling old news, this app could be useful.
