About
What Caught Your Eye is a photo diary for the small moments of an ordinary day—the ones that quietly catch your eye before your coffee cools.
Take one photo. Write a few words. That's the whole practice. There are no scores, no streaks, and nothing to fall behind on. A day you didn't write about is still a day that passed, just as fully.
FOUR LENSES, FOUR WAYS OF SEEING
Each entry can carry one of four Lenses—four ways of seeing your day:
• Blooming — the flowers and small beauties you stop for
• Growing — whatever you're raising: tomatoes, a cat, the kids
• Sky-gazing — the sky you happened to look up at
• Wandering — the paths you walked and what you found along the way
Choosing a Lens is optional. Not choosing one is fine, too.
HEART WEATHER
Instead of rating your mood, you note the weather of your heart: Ups, Downs, Plot Twist, and Good Things Come, each from None to Plenty. Weather has no right or wrong. Neither does a day.
TODAY'S NOTE
A single line is enough. Speak it with your keyboard's microphone if you prefer. Your words stay yours, in your own voice.
DOORWAYS
Behind each Lens is an album of everything you've gathered there. In Growing, you can keep the things you're raising—each with its own first day, notes, and entries over time. Tuck things away when a season ends; bring them back whenever you like.
SO FAR AND LAST WEEK'S LENS
Look back through your entries, or open Last Week's Lens on Monday to see how the week gathered itself: which Lenses you reached for, which days you photographed, how the heart weather moved—and a few quiet words about the week that was.
A SMALL HIDDEN COMPANION
Every so often, someone appears in the landscape at the top of the page with a word or two for you—about the season, the flowers, or simply how today can be a just-looking day. She'll read it aloud if you let her. Then she fades back into the picture.
YOURS, ON YOUR IPHONE
No account, no sign-in. Your photos and words stay on your device.
Available in English and Japanese.
Whatever caught your eye today—it was enough.
