I have been using this in all environments for years. This is evergreen and ageless.
Does not work with July 2024 version of Safari
This is a browser extension for Safari. Didn’t work on my iPhone. I had it enabled, went to the newrepublic.com site in Safari, selected a font, and clicked the what font menu option. It said something to the effect of “select a text” but I’d already selected text. Not sure what the fix is, but I hope the developer can figure it out. I’ve a similar plugin installed on my laptop and it works like a champ there.

Doesn’t work
App doesn’t work. It doesn’t pull up in the actions menu of the iPhone. It’s outdated anyways. Don’t download.

Leider kann man eine Rezensione nicht mit null Sternen oder Negativverweis veröffentlichen. Deshalb notgedrungen ein Stern.
Getestet habe ich mit iPhone 15 Pro und iOS 17.4.
Habe die WhatFont App geladen und entsprechend den darin erhaltenen Anweisungen versucht zu nutzen. Es funktioniert nichts! In Safari wird in den Aktionen die App nicht wie beschrieben angeboten.
In der Beschreibung der App im App Store ist ausgeführt, dass die App für iOS 8 geschrieben wurde. iOS 8 wurde 2014! veröffentlicht. Wer mit einem solch alten, nicht mehr unterstützen iOS unterwegs ist, setzt sich extremen Sicherheitsrisiken aus. Eine solche untauglich App sollte aus dem App Store entfernt werden!
Fazit: Finger weg von solchen Kinderreien!

No longer works
Only displays ‘Please select some texts for WhatFont to inspect.’ Has been doing so for a while on certain websites, but now it’s completely done.

.. die Installationsanleitung ist natürlich veraltet.

It’s not as elegant as its mac counterpart, but you select some text, press the more button, choose whatfont, get your info.

Brilliant app to find out a font’s details. However currently it doesn’t work on Reader View. Hope it’ll be fixed in next release.

True, this is not an app as someone mentioned, it’s more an extension/add-on for Safari, and the directions to set it up are very clear and easy to follow and take only a minute. I’ve used out countless times to identify fonts and it works great—I love it!
