About

Which bins go out this week? Type any Australian street address and whichbins works out the council and shows the next few weeks of rubbish, recycling and organics collections. No account, no sign-up, no ads. NO ACCOUNT NEEDED Searching is the whole app for most people, and it asks nothing of you. Start typing an address, pick it from the suggestions, and the answer is there: the next collection said large, then the weeks after it. Each bin is named the way your council names it, in the colour your council uses, so what you read here matches the sticker on the lid. WHERE THE DAYS COME FROM Collection days come from your council — its own lookup or timetable, the contractor that empties the bins, or data the council publishes openly. Nothing is guessed. Where a council prints a fortnightly pattern, that is what you get; where it publishes dates one at a time, you get those dates. Over 430 Australian councils are covered so far, and every council's own bin page is linked from whichbins.com/coverage. PUBLIC HOLIDAYS, SAID OUT LOUD A collection worked out from a weekly pattern that lands on a public holiday is marked, because that is the week a council is most likely to move the run. Where the council has published the changed date itself, you see the council's date instead, and it says so. SIGN IN TO KEEP AN ADDRESS An email address and a six-digit code — no password. Then you can: • Save addresses and name them: Home, Mum's, the beach house. • Get an email the evening before, at an hour you choose. • Put a widget on your Home Screen showing which bins are next — one address, or several at once in the larger sizes. Your saved addresses and reminders are the same in the app and on whichbins.com, so setting a reminder on your phone shows up on your laptop. WHAT WE HOLD Your email address, the addresses you ask about, the names you give them, and when you want to be reminded. That is the lot, and it is there to run the service. We do not sell it and we do not track you between apps. The full policy is at whichbins.com/privacy. NOT THE COUNCIL whichbins is an independent service. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any council, government department or agency. The collection days it shows are read from what each council publishes, and a council can change a run, move a day for a public holiday, or republish its timetable at any time. So: always check your council's own website if a date really matters. Every council's own bin page is linked from whichbins.com/coverage, and from the schedule this app shows you.

What's New in whichbins

1.0.1

September 25, 2026

Every set of collection days now carries a note saying what whichbins is: an independent service, not a council one. The days are read from what each council publishes, and your council's own website is the authority if a date matters.
