Best bidding app

This app is systematic and follows modern bridge bidding conventions.

Extensive workbooks for enhancing your biddings

The most important thing about playing Bridge is to get the bidding right and across the table. And from Whirlwind Bridge, I find many practices exercises in each workbook (100- 150 or more) in each category that help to drill the bidding. Highly recommend!

Best Way to Perfect Your Bidding

We’ve all been taught how to bid. But when we’re at the table, those rules often become unavailable. we can’t remember them when the heat is on. Whirlwind Bridge provides an unequaled practice device, where we can see and respond to all of the many hands and situations that come up at the bridge table. We can then find out where our understanding is “a little off” and concentrate our study on those aspects without wasting time on what we already do know.
There’s a lot to remember, and this app is a tool that brings attaining the bidding rules within our reach.

Assumes you know something

I am sure the lessons are ok but they need a glossary or something as I couldn’t follow their terminology being an absolute beginner. May be good for others

Excellent Practice Tied to Concepts

This app matches my learning style perfectly. Lots of repetition with clear, immediate feedback. The first lesson was free. I bought the second lesson and it was well-worth the money. I will be buying more.

Very helpful

Patty is an excellent teacher. Her instructions are clear. The exercises are very helpful. I review them often.

Bridge

I am a beginner and I like the way the lessons are organized and the practice exercises. I like how the answers are explained.

Bidding

Excellent. Exercise after exercise until it becomes second nature to the player.

Just don’t spend money

You can get most of this stuff for free online. The only part I like is that it gives you repeated problems to practice. You can still find bridge problems online, but they aren’t very good at enforcing a specific skill. (As far as I know.)

Basically, I’m saying that if you’re a beginner, you might as well get this app and do the first workbook, but don’t pay for any more of them. You probably can just look at the titles and Google them. I’ll give this a 3 star.

PS: developers, if you’re reading this, 9 dollars for each workbook isn’t really fair. Maybe if they were 3 bucks each, with a value pack of like $20, I might buy them. Maybe make the first ones cheaper and make them get more expensive as they go along. But $80 bucks for the whole thing ain’t gonna cut it.

Love it!

So glad I discovered this app. It is well-organized, very detailed, works perfectly on the iPad. The bidding is broken down into sections, each one building on the other. I have found no other site to offer this much practice. Reasonably priced and super convenient. I'll be purchasing more.

Excellent Tool

Very well organized. Excellent tool for reviewing bridge basics and developing analytical judgment in bidding sequences. I wish their were more workbooks because this is the best tool I have found to learn to play bridge quickly. If you want to go back, simply delete the app and reinstall. These workbooks are much less expensive than buying bridge books and more effective than taking classes.

Garbage

I downloaded the app to check it out and just as quickly deleted it. $10 per additional module? Not worth $100 when you can buy Barbara Seagram workbooks in iBook format for 1/10th the price.

Poorly done

This app works only in portrait. I usually delete these immediately, but I hoped a purchased workbook would be worth the inconvenience, not to mention the high price. It isn't worth either. 80 hands to bid and a few pages of thin explanation. When you get to hand 80, you are congratulated and directed to buy the next $9 workbook. No thanks. Want to review hand number 1? Why, sure. Just press the back arrow 79 times. You fooled me once. Never again.

Very irritating

I can not open workbooks that I have purchased. I try to open a workbook then app shuts down. I reported it and tho they responded right away my problem is not solved.

Fun App

I downloaded this months ago and just recently started using it. It's so much fun I wish I'd started using it sooner. It's a great review and refresher. Makes you think and provides the right amount of challenge. Love it.

Greedy

Entirely too expensive! This is a nice idea but hardly unique. Every slight addition to the training material is grossly overpriced. Such price gouging is an insult. Greed of such gigantic proportion is disgusting. Goodbye! Deleted from my iPad! Readers beware! Robbery!

Outstanding and Fun...

Just a fantastic way to isolate your bridge practice to a specific concept. I have no idea what the user is talking about who gave it 1 star. Nothing said by that reviewer was accurate. Definitely try this product if you want to improve your bridge game!!

Just started but Awful

The exercises did not support the point counts listed, and the cards are listed low to high instead of high to low. Would not even consider purchasing from Whirlwind. I'll stick to Bridge Baron for sure. Don't waste your time with this one.

Well designed!

I tried the first 2 workbooks. I wanted to brush up on bidding after not playing for many years and found this app to be an excellent tool. Things are kept simple and explanations are clear. I liked being able to file the items I missed so I could review them later.
