What's New in WhiskyCatalogue

2.0

What's New Power User Features - Infinity Bottle Tracking — Create and manage infinity bottles with component tracking. Each pour is logged with source bottle, volume, and ABV. The app automatically calculates the blended ABV using weighted averages. - Independent Bottler (IB) Support — Distinguish official bottlings from independent bottlers with a dedicated bottler type field. IB bottles get a purple badge in your collection. - Whisky Metadata — New fields for cask number, batch number, spirit type, and flags for limited edition, cask strength, non-chill filtered, and natural colour. Badges appear automatically in the detail view. - Dilution Calculator — A built-in tool to calculate exactly how much water to add to reach your target ABV. Enter starting ABV, volume, and target — get the answer instantly. - Vertical Tasting — Compare the same whisky across ages and vintages. The app automatically identifies distilleries in your collection with 2+ bottles at different ages and helps you build a structured vertical flight. Social & Sharing - Shareable Tasting Cards — Generate beautiful visual cards from any tasting session. Long-press a session and tap "Share as Card" to create a dark, editorial-style image with your tasting notes, ratings, flavour tags, and whisky colour. - Collection & Wishlist Cards — Share your collection stats or wishlist as a rendered image card from the Collection or Statistics tabs. - Wishlist Improvements — Priority tiers (Casual, Want, Must Have) with colour-coded badges, plus free-text wishlist notes on each bottle. Distillery Travel - Visit Log — Track visits to distilleries with date, tour type, rating, notes, and photos. - Digital Passport — A visual grid of every distillery in your collection showing which you've visited, with visit counts and stamps. - Distillery Map — MapKit-powered map with pins for 100+ distilleries worldwide. Filter by visited/unvisited. Coordinates auto-seeded for Scottish, Irish, Japanese, and rum-producing distilleries. - Bought at Distillery — Flag bottles purchased at the distillery with a teal badge in the detail view. Rum Support - 6 rum spirit types — Rhum Agricole, Molasses Rum, Dark Rum, Spiced Rum, White Rum, and Premium Rum. - Expanded Flavour Wheel — 3 new rum-specific categories: Tropical (Pineapple, Banana, Mango...), Funky (Dunder, Hogo, Ester...), and Sugarcane (Molasses, Demerara, Raw Sugar...). Now 14 categories with 78 flavour tags. - 40+ rum distillery coordinates — Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Guyana, Trinidad, Guatemala, Venezuela, Cuba, Panama, and more. - AI label recognition now detects rum bottles alongside whisky. Design Revamp - Dark Luxury Editorial — Complete visual overhaul. Deep charcoal backgrounds, refined gold accents, Georgia serif headings, and monospaced numbers give the app a premium whisky journal feel. - Staggered fade-in animations on collection grid and discovery sections. - Redesigned bottle cards with muted badge system, gold fill-level indicator, and monospaced metadata. - Dark action cards replace the previous colourful gradient buttons throughout Discovery. - Gold/copper chart scheme in Statistics for a cohesive, sophisticated look. Quality of Life - "Cost Per Dram" renamed to "Cost Per Pour" for spirit-agnostic language. - User-facing text updated from "whisky" to inclusive "spirit"/"bottle" language throughout. - Consolidated share sheet helper for cleaner codebase. - 452 automated tests covering all features.
