Works great but…

would love to be able to see my notes as I’m dictating. Would help a ton with keeping track of my thoughts.

Like it alot

I really like this app so far –very accurate. The only strange thing –it keeps posting "no audio detected" –but it actually is recording and then prints my dictation as spoken.
The Price is Right, –much obliged.

Don’t waste your money

Bought it for recording long, 1-1.5 hour sessions.
Records things short things around 3 minutes just fine.

When I tried to get a transcription for the 2 one hour sessions, it kept failing to transcribe!
You press the button, and it gets upto 1%, and says transcription interrupted. I tried again and again, uninstall, reinstall, across two devices.

This app is not capable of long transcription!
Wish there was a try before you buy.

Sorry for the trouble. The most likely cause: iOS doesn't let apps use the GPU in the background, so transcription pauses if the app is sent to the background or the screen locks. For a long 1–2 hour file, please keep Whisper Notes open in the foreground with the screen on until it finishes — don't switch to another app or let the screen sleep. If it does get interrupted, reopen the app and you can resume it. If you'd prefer a refund: Settings (gear, top right) → Request a Refund. And if it still fails while staying in the foreground, email support@whispernotes.app and I'll help directly.

bonne application dans l’ensemble

cette application me sert beaucoup en ce moment,
idéal pour ne pas oublier toutes les informations et taches données au quotidien. le widget permet une dictée très rapide et fluide.
cependant,
beaucoup de mots sont encore mal compris,
bon soit on en saisis le sens dans la phrase globale,
soit on réécoute l’audio .
les chiffres ou nombres , cent quatre , svp mettez nous 104 .
pas de sauvegarde iCloud…. permettez nous au moins l’option, on es pas tous agent secret , homme d’affaires.
j’espère qu’avec les mises a jour mes voeux seront exaucés et la ce seras pour moi une application 5 étoiles.
en l’état, une très bonne appli mais plus tard je vais me pencher sur d’autres pour voir .

Merci pour ce retour détaillé ! Pour améliorer la précision, essayez de sélectionner manuellement le français dans les réglages et de changer de modèle (Parakeet/Whisper) — la précision varie selon le modèle. Pour les nombres en chiffres (104 plutôt que « cent quatre »), excellente suggestion, on la note. La synchronisation iCloud optionnelle est à l'étude. Merci, et au plaisir de mériter la 5e étoile !

Great transcription app!

I like it and it works quite well for a mix of Russian and English language. There was a bug in the app, but the team fixed it instantly after I addressed it

首先，希望支持锁屏播放及原生控制。目前锁屏后播放会停止。我希望能在锁屏状态下继续在后台收听文章，并能使用锁屏界面上的按钮进行播放/暂停、快进和快退操作。

其次，作为未来改进：播放进度保留功能。希望应用在退出完整播放界面后，能在一段时间内保存当前播放时间戳，这样当我返回页面时，可以从中断的地方继续收听。

Очень хороший ии-диктофон

На самом деле довольно функциональный, спроектированный на получение текста диктофон с быстрым распознанием и возможностью объединить заметки. Хорошо работает даже в шумных местах. Распознование не идеальное, скоррее хорошее. Если вы готовы получившийся текст прогнать уже через полноценную нейронку, то результат будет близок к идеальному.

Для меня главный недостаток дизайн приложения в устаревшей стилистике, невнятна иконка, которую не хочется ставить на хоум скрин и немного нелогичный интерфейс. Но я все равно выбрал это приложение, потому что оно без подписок и функционально хорошо работает.

Won’t transcribe anything over a short sentence

Initially the app worked great and appeared to be fantastic! Now it won’t transcribe anything beyond a sentence or two at the most, sometimes nothing at all. It freezes and or crashes and has become useless. I’ve tried every fix including completely re-installing the app. It’s very disappointing. I can relate to the frustration others have mentioned.

Shortcut „Fn“ funktionierte nicht > super Kundenservice!

Habe mir die App vor einer Woche gekauft, und konnte damit erst nichts anfangen, da der Fn-Button einfach nichts tat. Auf meine Mail hat erst niemand vom Support reagiert, als ich dann hier 1 Stern vergeben habe, kam sofort eine Antwort. Der Whisper Notes Support hat mir aber eine super gute und schnelle Lösung geboten und nun funktioniert alles, wie es soll! Ich beginne jetzt erst, die App zu nutzen, daher kann ich zur Funktion noch nicht so viel sagen, aber erster Eindruck ist top!

Great App, Needs Bigger Whisper Models for Newer Phones

Whisper Notes is a solid app overall. I really like that it runs locally on-device, is fast, private, and does not require a subscription. The transcription is impressively quick, and the Whisper option does a good job with technical terms compared to a lot of built-in dictation tools.

My main complaint is that on newer, more powerful iPhones, I wish there were higher-quality Whisper model options available. My phone can clearly handle the current models very quickly, so I would gladly trade speed for accuracy and let a larger model take longer if it meant better transcription. Right now the iOS model options feel limited compared to what newer hardware should be capable of.

Still a good app and worth the price, but I hope future updates add more powerful downloadable model options for newer iPhones.

Fast and accurate transcription

I use Whisper Notes to create transcriptions of podcast episodes as it’s more accurate than other ways to do this. I can import the audio for an episode and have a transcription in a few seconds.

läuft, aber Tastatur “fehlt”

Ich muss sagen, die App funktioniert sehr sehr gut. Was der App fehlt, ist ein Custom Keyboard mit einer Diktierfunktion. Das wäre prinzipiell eins der besten Feature, die man auf einem Smartphone anbieten kann für solch eine App. Ansonsten gefällt sie mir sehr gut und macht, was sie soll. Fuer diesen Preis aber unschlagbar! MacWhisper bietet auf iOS und MacOS das Feature, dass ich überall via Hotkey Sprache direkt transkripieren kann! Das wäre sehr wünschenswert

Stalling problems

Won’t run in the background so you have to babysit the transcription the whole time, otherwise it craps out- and there’s no function to pick up from where you left off, you have to start all over again. This makes the process tedious and time-consuming, even in “fast” mode.

Wisper

started using Whisper Notes during my morning commute to capture random ideas before I forgot them, and it’s been surprisingly accurate even when I’m speaking quickly. I tested it with both short reminders and longer brainstorming sessions, and the transcription was cleaner than I expected with very little editing afterward. I also like that the interface stays simple instead of burying basic features under too many menus. It’s become useful for quick work notes and journaling when I don’t feel like typing everything out manually.
