TERRIBLE paid option!! Will Trash your work.
Alright, I have to report this app! This has been five times at least now that it has thrown away my work. I paid for this relatively soon after I started working with it, but then every month or so it somehow logs me out of my subscription and doesn't tell me. I will be dictating something for like 5 minutes (that I can NOT get back) then finish and hit stop, and THEN it thinks that I'm not using the paid option, and have hit my limit. YES, it lets me make it all the way to the end of 4 or 5 minutes, and THEN it pops up its stupid window saying “you've reached the end of your 30-day trial. You need to pay for it.” And it throws away my audio. It is GONE and there's no way I can get it back. It's so frustrating and I am just sick of this. This is such a stupid developer mistake!

spinning forever bug
This app has been great so far (I am paying for this!), but recently a bug seems to have been introduced. If I do a recording and then I get interrupted by a phone call or switch apps while it is doing the transcribe of the recording, it will actually put that recording into a permanent loading state that just spins forever. I can close the app, even reboot the phone, and I'll come back in and it will perpetually keep showing this spinning icon forever after that. I can still play the audio out, but it doesn't even show the red error that I can then try to do a retry. I have about five of those in my list of recordings that are showing infinite spinners on them. Please fix that.

Almost never works
I’ve had the same experience. It may do five minutes or it may hang and say timed out or there’s an error. Not worth the hassle.
Didn't work with iPhone voice memo m4a.
The program told me it didn't support this particular format. Deleted immediately.
Doesn’t Always Work
Very frustrating. I will dictate this whole thing and all that will come up is the word “you.” I paid the subscription, but it also tells me there is an error. So I am done with this product. When I have to fight more with it than enjoy it, it’s not worth it.
This app is super accurate.
I heard how fantastic the Whisper Dictation Platform was, I really wanted to try it out. Did a search, this one came up well reviewed, just tried it out, it's truly amazing. There's also a keyboard option which is pretty handy. In fact, it's so good that I even used it to dictate this very review. Congratulations to the developer!

worse than i thought
I could not even copy the transcribed content into a usable format. Dont use this at all. This is rubbish.

The app crashes in both the Mac and the iPhone (15 Pro Max) and I loose the dictations

Sure the transcription is fine. But it can’t handle long audio, it will just be “converting” forever. And forget about support, they don’t answer. Not even sure what the subscription does. So don’t waste your time.
Frustrating
I pay for the Pro Plan but it regularly doesn't save my transcriptions, telling me I need to upgrade to pro plan - even though I'm already on it. Very frustrating as it means I lose the notes that I've just spent ages dictating. Tearing my hair out.

you could improve it is by displaying the text the same time its being proccessed and it would also be great if you could copy the text to take somewhere else but great app

Can someone please help me. I upgraded to WhisperPro and check the internet connection which is perfect and have done all the other things suggested but I keep getting the error message.

The transcription is good but I cannot export it via email/whatsapp.
Best Audio to Text App
I have been researching QuickTime audio to text converters and found Whisper to be the ‘Go to app’ - it’s very quick and accurate. The cost of the Pro version is a lot less than some of the other apps around - Whisper is by far the best in my opinion!

This app has by far the best transcript capabilities of anything that’s out there. And also has the best value easily, hands-down
I want to love this but it crashes lots …
I have tried this and found the transcription ability is miraculous (as you’d expect it’s open AIs open sourced transcription model) however the bit we’re paying for, (as whisper Pro) seems to be super buggy.
The interface is super easy to use and would work well if it didn’t crash all the time trashing any recording you’ve just made.
I have tried mailing the developer for support but have had no response.
You “record” sound using your iPad / phone’s microphone - hit “stop” at the end of your session - it thinks (not for long at all - just a matter of seconds even for minutes of audio) and gives you your transcript. You can play back the recorded audio whilst listening to the audio. This really is terrific. The free version allows up to 30 minutes cumulatively of audio to be processed .

I have uninstalled the app, reinstalled it - made sure I’m running the latest iOS (16.7) all apps up To date, restarted the iPhone and iPad I’m running it on … BUT
I see two bugs…

I have found - if I put my phone / iPad in aircraft mode for example - the error “ URLSessionTask failed with error:
The Internet connection appears to be offline.” Is returned.
If I take the iPhone off aircraft mode - the transcript is not completed.
This is a real problem for me as I want to use this when out and about “.
Even at home -
The internet as always can be flakey - so this pops up frequently.
I have also seen the following error a number of times “ Response could not be decoded because of error:
The data couldn't be read because it isn't in the correct format.”
Given all processing is internal to the app (you cannot import memos, video, files or other audio) this is very odd.
I am running whisper on iOS 16.7 for an iPhone 12 Pro Max, and on an iPad running iOS 16.7.
All apps have been updated, there is plenty of spare memory and I have restarted both devices. .
So unless these errors get resolved, Give this a swerve as this makes it sadly completely unusable.
