Measurable impact in countries lies at the heart of WHO’s mission to promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable. The WHO results report for the biennium 2020–2021 presents the progress towards a billion more people benefiting from universal health coverage, to protect a billion more people from health emergencies, and provide a further billion people with better health and well-being. The report showcases how WHO staff around the world have worked tirelessly to support countries to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, and 87 other emergencies around the world. WHO’s work during the biennium addressing longstanding health challenges that have returned measurable impact in supporting countries to protect and improve the health and wellbeing of their people.
