This isn’t an ‘in app purchase’ app. This is a fully pay to use app. You will need to give them your payment information before checking out their app in full. You need to pay a subscription before you figure out whether you like the app or not. They do offer a free trial of a couple days so if that’s enough for you to judge the app maybe this is for you.
Developer reached out to me to explain the app works exactly as I wrote. You will need to download the app, allow it access to your device and submit a payment method before you ever get a look at the app. None of this is spelled out prior to onboarding and granting access to your information. There is no free version past the 7 days max (depending on subscription agreement). This is the definition of bait and switch.

Hi! We’ve made the purchase process completely transparent. Here’s how it works: you get a 7-day free trial with full access to all features. Two days before your trial ends, you’ll receive a notification about the upcoming payment. Payment only occurs after your trial period is over. You can cancel anytime during the trial without being charged. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out - we’re happy to help!
