Moved to Fort Lauderdale in March knowing literally no one, and I was so tired of eating pad thai on my couch watching everyone else's group dinners on instagram. My coworker showed me the Shared Table thing on here and I almost didn't do it because eating with people I don’t know sounded terrifying lol. But everyone on the app is ID verified and the girl hosting had to approve my request, so it didn't feel weird.. it felt like getting invited to something!
Ended up at a long table of 6 at a tapas place, three of us were new to the city, and we ended up unlocking free sangria because our table hit the group deal 😭 We have a group chat now. I've done four tables since and hosted one myself. It's not a dating thing, it's not networking, it's just… dinner with people who also wanted plans.
