Nicely designed so that it is easy to find what you’re looking for. And there’s an amazingly wide range of things to select from.
Other than unavoidable -but brief and completely justified- “underwriting” announcements, and an occasional fund-raising drive, it’s actually really free - unlike so many apps that are merely “free to download“.
Strongly recommended.

I live that I can access WHQR from anywhere, whether I am out of the range of a radio, or traveling to see family out of state, as long as I have service I have HQR.

Glitchy
I love HQR but this app is incredibly frustrating. It’s constantly re-buffering and shutting off mid program. I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling but it appears to be a programming issue. I find myself going to other NPR stations so I can hear the stories without interruption.
No worries about the transmitter power/range. Simple & effective, with some articles presented

Listening to WHQR anywhere
When driving the other day, I went out of range to get HQR on my car radio. I pulled over and connected this app to my car Bluetooth. HQR continued with me as far as I wanted to go. Great app!
