Amazing Picture Quality Compared to main PBS App
Full disclosure, I’m very picky about video quality, especially since we have a huge 4K TV. I just paid an annual subscription to Greater Boston PBS (GBH) but found out afterwards they don’t have their own app and I have to use the Main PBS App to benefit from my subscription. The PBS App looks very pixelated especially during panning scenes due to pitiful bitrate. Case in point, the show Sisi Austrian Empress looks mediocre. Later, I found out that this dedicated app but my annual GBH PBS subscription does not work here. So I decided to try a one month subscription. Amazing difference. The same show looks magnitudes better because WHYY do not cap their bitrate. I highly recommend folks stay away from the main PBS app. Instead use WHYY if you’re wanting to watch the grandeur of shows like Austrian Empress. HIGHLY Recommended.

no landscape mode on ipad
Opens in portrait mode even though device is in landscape . . . why would I watch tv shows in portrait mode? Will stick with the PBS app
