Great concept-room for improvement

Was excited to see this app and initially was impressed with all of the information. Reminded me of the Gaper Guide that you can get for Yellowstone National Park. I purchased the paid version in hopes to be able to filter and customize the information to what you find pertinent. For example, historical sites along the route only and perhaps limiting it to every 2-5 minutes instead of every 30 seconds. However, that’s not one of the features. Hoping this will become available in a future edition!

Totally accessible with VoiceOver, and fun!

It is pretty difficult to find free apps on the Apple App Store these days, let alone really outstanding free apps.
There’s a reason this app is receiving such good exposure on the Applevis website, and it’s very well deserved. Thanks are owed to Bjorn, the developer, for giving this app an accessibility rating so that it can be more easily found by those who can most benefit from it. It’s a terrifically unique idea.

Edit: I fixed some bugs with background audio, which might address the issue you encountered. Hi! I am sorry you had a bad experience. There should be plenty Wikipedia articles available for locations in and around Milan, in many languages. Did you perhaps only grant "once" location permissions? That's the only thing I can think of. I should add an error case for that.

Hallo lieber Entwickler, die App scheint wirklich klasse zu sein, aber ich habe eine Frage zur Nutzung und bin nicht bereit mir dafür einen Twitter, bzw. X Account anzulegen. Wie kann ich sie per Mail erreichen, denn ich habe das Problem das meine Musik, welche ich prinzipiell über CarPlay höre, nicht unterdrückt wird, wenn WikiTrip einen Beitrag vorträgt. Somit ist da leider nichts zu verstehen. Generell finde ich die App und die Idee dahinter SPITZE. Wenn Sie mir erklären, wie ich dieses Problem in den Griff bekomme, gibt es sofort 5 Sterne. Ich hoffe, das Sie hier mitlesen und ich somit eine Rückmeldung bekomme.

Nice Start

Needs several more features to be really useful. Like through up all the spots in a certain radius and let the user pick. Good for a densely populated area. Also an option to display the text or link to the article on Wikipedia would be nice for people who prefer to read. Also would be cool to bring in other sources, like WikiTravel. Best of luck!

Why I rate one

I am a Grey Nomad in lockdown. I wish to plan my next trip for when we in Oz can travel again.
I downloaded the App. I so far can see no prompts to allow me to put in information.
If this App is only so that you can record you trip then it is useless to me and I shall delete it.

Hi there! It seems there was a misunderstanding about what Wiki Trip does. In my opinion, the App Store description and the intro screen in the app clearly state that it reads out Wikipedia articles about interesting places nearby while driving, cycling or walking. It does not mention anything about trip planning. Therefore, I feel a 1* review is a bit harsh. Best greetings to Down Under from Cali. Stay safe, and I hope this pandemic is over soon.

Thank you so much for your very nice feedback! If you want to use WikiTrip when running in the background (i.e. when your phone is locked and in your pocket), it needs "Always" location access. In case you only provided "Only When In Use" the first time you opened the app, please open the Settings app, scroll all the way down to WikiTrip and then select Always under Location.
