Informative & useful

Useful tool to help identifying wild flowers and getting information about them on-the-go

Really great but needs more species

Such a good app for testing ID skills but gets a bit repetitive and doesn’t cover ever species

A year on

I have had this app for a year and it is great at the common flowers. The identification checklist is excellent and makes you look at the flowers carefully. The ability to add to your own list is good. However the automatic recognition does not work even on a 2022 iPhone SE.

Visual and Informative

This is an app that's beautiful to behold, enabling easy visual identification - even between closely related varieties. IPhone app best useful on walks but iPad app such a pleasure to browse and learn from. Over time (I've had it for some years) the app has grown to include most UK species and the developer responds positively to suggestions for improvements and inclusions. One of my "essentials".

Wildflower uk

Took a few minutes to learn how to use is but a great learning tool and fun to use

Great idea poor app

Certainly on my iPhone 7 (up to date iOS) it keeps crashing when you try photo id. Now hardy use it after buying about 3 years ago.

Useless

I honestly don’t know what this App is for…. I thought you could photograph the plant in question and get an answer but that doesn’t seem to be the case. It’s useless and I’d love to know how to get my money back.

Glitchy

This app glitches frequently. The majority of times that I have used it, it has shut down before being able to ID a plant. I can’t believe I wasted money buying it

Sad

Just spent an hour using the Auto Rec function to identify two different flowers. It Informed me that the first flower was a yellow species when in reality it was blue and that the second flower was firstly one species and then another quite different species, even though I was using the same specimen to photograph! The thing about this is that the App is probably being used by those who wish to improve their knowledge and this is certainly not going to do that.

Useless

I am glad I didn’t pay much for this app as it even fails to recognise the plants I already know

Waste of money!

Bought this for the auto recognition feature. Constantly crashes and simply doesn’t work. Don’t waste your money.

Search

Disappointed with this app. Flower photo identification is very poor. Can’t find the search button. Quite often pressing a button just takes you out of the app. Identified pictures are good and show leaves as well

Total rubbish

Crashes constantly
It is sold to identify British wild flowers
It can’t tell the difference between a dandelion and a buttercup
It does not give you definite identification only a % probability, with second or third choices completely different colour and specie plants
I’m not a botanist but this is crap

Keeps crashing, auto recognition very poor

I thought I’d try it on something easy first. A bold clear photo of a dandelion ought to give just one answer, you’d think. Wrong. Same with primrose. Going to delete and look for something better.

Great app

Beautifully presented and a great companion when walking

Excellent pictures and range of British wildflowers

I have enjoyed using this no frills app showing a wide range of our best and commonest wildflowers in Britain.

Unidentifiable

Great concept for an app and reasonable and honestly priced, Howver, I couldn’t get any of my photos to be recognised by the app. I tested this against Bing’s on line photo recognition app. Photos that were recognised by Bing were not recognised by this app. I also tried to list all the flowers that are Yellow, and then again by other colours. The app only gave a few of the right colour and a large number of flowers that were no where near the colour. Admittedly it gave low percentage recognition for these.

On the plus side, the photos of the flowers on the database are excellent. So if you know the plant the information is great. I use it for verifying flowers that I think I have identified.

The developers need to improve the data retrieval algorithm as well as that for plant recognition.

Very Disappointed

This app had a lot of promise but is badly let down due to it not being intuitive and crashes regularly. Don’t waste your money until it’s sorted!

Disappointed

Opened app for the first time, first title was Asparagus with a photo of a bluebell!! Back to the pocket wild flower ID book.

Don’t bother

Absolute rubbish. Totally unclear how to navigate, crashes frequently, and recognition is hopeless on the clearest photo. Extremely disappointed.
