Complete joke
Couldn’t even finish the tutorial. Ads covered instructions on my iPad. Slow response times. Finally stuck on “tap here” that never responded. Obviously no one play tested this on the iPad.
Alright, But
This is a really fun game to play in your free time ,but I do have some issues with the game. This is a complete ripoff of a game called Long Dark on Steam. I like that they tried to add it to mobile but getting the graphics to look good is just hard. This game is free and nothing is free so they through ads and starters packs in your face to make money. This game has real potential in become its own game only if it responds to its community and has patches and updates. The game is also doesn’t need internet to be played. Please read this review devs I really think you can turn this into something good.

FUN! But…
I love this game. I paid for the bigger backpack and no ads, because it was worth it to me. But after completing all tasks and building multiple structures, my game got glitchy after the last update. So I uninstalled and reinstalled. Started all over again. But I can’t get past the tutorial. When I pick up the bow, it says “tap here to aim” but I’ve tapped repeatedly and nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times and the game always hangs up in the same place. I guess at this point, my $4.99 x 2 is wasted. :(

FUN! But…
I love this game. I paid for the bigger backpack and no ads, because it was worth it to me. However, I would really like to see the quests continue. I feel like when the quests have come to an end, there is nothing left to do except to repeat things that I have already done over and over again. I have built everything there is to build and acquired every decoration possible, and there is really nothing left to do. I have built several houses in all locations. One thing, for the life of me, I cannot find the one record album that is on the road along the river. Where the heck is it?? Another thing, I thought when I did find the record albums, that they would give me clues. In fact, I thought all the notes I was collecting would be helpful to me for solving some kind of mystery. But everything seems to be meaningless. The records and notes don’t point to anything. And the quests come to an end with no mystery to solve. I also wish there were seasons. If the snow would melt off for a bit, that would be great! It would also be fun to go fishing since there are so many water features. And it would be nice to make it a little bit easier for us to collect iron to make ammo. I have bags and bags of excess rock strewn all over because there is nothing to do with it. Keep up the good work, but keep adding on or players will lose interest!

Can the game be developed in Chinese? Very fun is the hope of Chinese
Waste of time
Don’t bother, when you download this game you can’t go past the arming section of the tutorial and can’t continue forward. It’s a waste of time
Chests shouldn’t have weight limits
Chests are all but worthless with a weight limit. They shouldn’t have limits asides from their slots.

Great game but………
I’ve liked open world survival games about winter and this is the closest I’ve gotten without having to pay for it. I’m going to be honest it’s a great game with potential but it’s a little bland and not much to do, the map is tiny and there is no storyline to it, I give it 5 stars because of the potential and the gameplay, I would like if you guys could lower the “breaks” so I could play more. Other than that, add more locations, add a bigger map, vehicles, and then this game would be top notch in survival games.
Thanks for the free game though it’s great that you guys do this

The Long Dark (WinterCraft)
WinterCraft: Forrest Survival is one of the most entertaining, yet gorgeous looking games currently on the App Store. Today I successfully completed the tutorial, and I absolutely love the direction this game is going in. I truly look forward to future improvements + content. Note: Please implement custom controls & improve combat.

It’s fun but the ads are super gay
Review
I think that you should add spring+summer survival and fall survival. I also think you should add a competition mode where you tried to last the longest and should add where you jump out of a plane or survive a plane crash. Overall it is a great game but could have different settings. The dad story is really fun.

Ruined by ads
Could’ve been a great game but even after paying to remove ads there are constant pop ups and the game is always trying to make you spend more money.
Great and wonderful
This is an amazing game I love the graphics and the story line and I can’t wait until you all update it but their is one or two things that could be changed one the storage boxes that you can make need to be able to hold more items you can barely put more than 20 things of one item in them it would be great to be able to put more items in the storage boxes, the other thing that would be nice is if their where more free stuff in the shop maybe do an ad thing or something also I tried all the different modes of survival and the adventure one that says that I don’t have to worry about the survival aspect of the game well it doesn’t work because I still have to look out for food and water and all that if it’s saying that we don’t have to worry about survival I think it should be that we don’t have to worry about the food or cold or whatever but all in all this is a very great game and I look forward to seeing it updated and seeing more games like it

Thanks for the detailed review! We will release many improvements in the coming days
My honest review
This game stands out as one of the best open-world survival experiences, but there is potential to elevate it even further by expanding its scope and depth. Introducing a broader range of wildlife—like bobcats, foxes, voles, and even stray dogs and cats—would not only enhance the realism of the world but also create new survival challenges and opportunities for interaction. A more dynamic ecosystem would enrich the player’s experience and add layers of unpredictability to the environment.
In addition, expanding the world with abandoned cities and more isolated cabins would provide exciting new areas to explore, each with its own unique risks and rewards. Players could discover hidden resources, valuable tools, or shelter in these locations, making exploration feel even more vital to survival.
Beyond the world itself, the addition of advanced crafting systems, including metal smelting and more intricate item creation, would deepen the gameplay and encourage more creative problem-solving. Introducing farming mechanics and animal husbandry would add another strategic layer, allowing players to cultivate food, breed animals, and establish more sustainable, long-term survival plans. These features would not only diversify gameplay but also increase the sense of progression and achievement.
By integrating these elements, the game would become a more immersive, dynamic, and rewarding experience—offering both the thrill of exploration and the satisfaction of building a thriving, self-sufficient existence in the wild.
