Problematic app... Causing the Extend to crash
Outdated platform and no longer compatible to the newer iOS devices... Loading extremely slow and will cause the Extend extension on your PC to crash...

Pros: once connected works well even on weak signal with a nice and clear picture.
Cons:
Very slow at connecting to channels!
Clunky out of date software.
No EPG or details on listing.
No rewind or forwards option on paused shows or even recorded strangely.
All in all it does what it say on the tin, but just poorly.
Please update, its well over due!

Easy to Setup, Won’t Work
I can get the app to come up in a local connection only on my iPhone 8. But, about 30 seconds will play and then start over.. it will keep doing that until I end the app. SAD! Hauppauge makes great products but crappy software!!!

I’ve been able to get this to work over a local network but the app is pretty clunky. Ongoing need to use workarounds e.g. when you close the app, server remains with its CPU maxed out transcoding for no good reason, so you need to kill the app and then restart it again to get the server to stop. Switching channels needs to be done twice, the first time it doesn’t really take and instead of the new channel the old one comes up again. Very preventable nuisances that make for an awful user experience.

Do not upgrade to IOS 11
Upgraded to ios 11. App doesn’t work properly now. After a couple of minutes, video feed shows QuickTime logo and starts playing previous few minutes of show. Please fix. Thank you.

The app simply does not work on iOS 10. However, the web streaming for WinTV Extend in the browser works fine, so I question the need for this nonfunctional app.
Lots of potential but…
But poor execution. The support for the media server is poor, and configuration can be difficult based on your hardware. For me the mobile app only works on my local network. Channels don't display when connected outside my network, and the app will crash after a few seconds even though they display fine when using a pc/browser. Seeing as it's been a few years since this app has been updated, the technology is clearly not a priority for the vendor.

actually seems to work
update 9/2016: I downloaded the new version of the app, went outside with the ipad2 and I'm actually streaming an NFL game on my patio. it's a good HD stream too. it's only over wi-fi, haven't tried internet yet. this has surprisingly surpassed my expectations based on awful previous experiences. of note I'm using the newest wintv Windoze client 8.1 iirc.

Live tv not working with ios 10
Poor video controls
Will display recorded TV, and allows adjustment of bit rate. Big issue is that you can't fast forward or position the playback. So if the stream fails, you have to go back to the beginning of the recording. This makes the application unusable for viewing recordings if connection is less than perfect.

Brand new wintv v8 on my local network in my home. App just spins and spins and never works. Tried rebooting etc. Hauppauge makes good hardware but has some of the WORST software in the industry.
Missing Functions
No scheduler or record options on iOS9.2 iPad. Can stream channels or watch previously recorded video, but cannot schedule a recording or record a channel you are watching. These functions were present on iOS 7. No updates in over a year.
No Sound!
It used to be an okay app but after the last upgrade, I can't get sound. I can't use the web app since it it uses flash. So for all of us who use iOS, out of luck.

Don't know what happened to this app but it no longer works on the I pad... Not being kept up to date...
Not quite
The latest version is not downloading when I try to update from the latest version in Apple Store. In addition the video is not clearly displaying with severe pixelation. I have the latest Windows 10 OS running HVR-2255 device. This was working until I updated to the latest OS.
