Works good, BUT
I’ve used Wipr for quite a while on my phones and tablets and it’s worked quite well. This is the first time using it on my MacBook Pro. This app could be 5 stars but the only reason I’m rating it at 3 is because with the “Filtr” feature of the app turned ON, it effectively blocks all email servers I have configured in Apple Mail. Please note that this is not true on my iPhone and iPad, Apple Mail works perfectly fine on them with the “Filtr” feature turned ON. If there is a way to configure the app in macOS to allow the email servers through OR this issue gets fixed, I would gladly rate it at 5 stars. In the meantime the “Filtr” feature has to remain OFF on my MacBook Pro.

Wipr is a wonderful app - it works great on the Mac and even better on my iPhone and iPad. I had an issue once and wrote the developer and got a reply in just a couple of hours. I love to support actual people with good ideas and fantastic execution. This is the ad-blocker to use.

Adjusting my original recipe. Wipr 2 did not work with recipe websites for a while. However now that I enabled Wipr 2 extra in the safari browser, I can see recipe websites again that don't give the automatic error block. Thanks Kaylee

Muito bom! Realmente bloqueia anúncios nos sites e YouTube, com uma configuração inicial mínima. O filtr vale muito a pena se você usa apps com anúncios chatos. Para usar o filtr na família, outros têm que comprar o app também.
Set it and forget it!
It’s nice to have an app that is as lightweight and powerful as Wipr this day and age! I only wish I had thought about coding it up myself!

Warned by apple about #4 say sign up for wipr2 but will not work unless you sign up for the lot. Data / personel vacuum .

If you want a no-frills extension to eliminate ads while you browse on Safari, this is the one. Support a small creator.
Questionably functional
Not sure I understand all of the rave reviews here. This works somewhat? But often doesn’t. Constantly find myself having to open and refresh this app along with its add on/companion Filtr and still deal with plenty of spammy ads appearing and blocking the screen in Safari. Wasn’t a huge amount of money, but does feel like I wasted it. Certainly won’t be renewing.

I use WIPR 2 along with Hush. The combination gives me excellent tracking protection across all my Apple gadgets. I highly recommend WIPR 2.

I love this app
I have used wipr for around 2 years now I found it after I was bombarded with pop up ads and cookie notifications, this has completely wiped these ads when I look up articles. The only downside is that some articles won’t let me open the website due to my ad blocker but at that point I just choose not to read it. Overall I really enjoyed this purchase because it was only a one time purchase and you can chose to tip in comparison to other ad blockers which are usually monthly subscriptions.
