I have the Wipry Clarity and I would like to connect with this app or something like this but this doesn’t work…
Update was a downgrade!
Used to countdown from 2 minutes then give you the names of the routers for easy ident!
After I updated, it no longer does that and the ssid table is always blank(despite being set to “on”)
Can I get a refund?

No Updates in 2 Years
Still Selling the Hardware on their Website but haven't updated the software in 2 years. The amount of change in WiFi technology in two years is crazy, but we are supposed to buy and use tech (to detect the WiFi) that hasn't changed in 2 years. I think this product/software has potential, but not if they can’t stay current.

Great company, great product! But minus 1 star because….
Ok, so I want to say, Oscium’s customer service is absolutely the best! Super fast communication, and they legitimately just want to get you back up and running as quickly as possible! Thank you for that!😁😁😁
So, why did I knock 1 star?? I really, RELLY wish the app would get some love. I understand the “if it ain’t broke” mentality, but 2 years seems a little excessive. Maybe an update to smooth out some quirks and possibly “speed it up” would be enough? Love to hear from Oscium on this.
As far as the device/app goes, the 2500x works great! You can tweak and play with so many things, and pinpoint some real issues within a wireless network. Especially with the SSID features, you can actually see who’s interfering with who.
Please update the app! I will give it 5 star as soon as it happen! 😁

This app is for using small form factor hardware to diagnose dBm, BSSID, Channel, Frequencies, etc. of surrounding WiFi routers and devices which emit in the 2.5|5 GHz band. If you don’t have the hardware, it is a demo screen.
It will help you measure your signal loss through walls, floors, ceilings, etc. and help you determine where you should put repeaters.
Apple doesn’t allow the iPhone to measure these things natively, so custom (expensive for consumers) hardware is required. Try to get your place of employment to purchase one if you ever need to diagnose connectivity issues.

Bought an older model still in the box
I purchased one of the older 30 pin models then I went out and bought an adaptor which I didn’t really expect to work. So I want to disappointed when it didn’t. Then I ordered an IPhone 4s the last iPhone with 30 pin lightning. Well I can’t download the WiPry app on a phone that old so now I’ve wasted a bunch of money and I still can’t scan the WiFi around my apartment to get an idea of where to place my router to prevent interference. I have 100 Mb/s at the router but I can’t watch any streaming service because of the terrible wireless interference.

Demo mode scam
Opening the app makes it look like it’s working, but it’s really just a demo. A demo of signal. You can tell, because if you turn on airplane mode, the demo continues showing signal.

A complete 2500x with accessories is $700plus USD.
The App (WiPry) shows the signal/spectrum for the 2.4 and 5GHz Wi-Fi bands but then stops short, dead short; not allowing you to measure exact frequencies.
So, even though It has vertical cursors you can move to any signal point in the spectrum, the app will not show the MHz of their respective location within the band; so your left having to guess the location of a signal peak. This shouldn’t be lacking in an App for a $700 spectrum kit.
When you select an SSID it doesn’t give you the frequency or the channel within the respective band nor the width of the channel, i.e. 20, 40, 80MHz. This is a must in any WiFi tool.
It doesn’t provide a Channel Overlay template that you can toggle on or off, thus you can’t show the WiFi owner where the channels are, making this useless to WiFi installers looking for a tool that helps explain the issues to the client.

Oscium HW Device’s Are Pretty Incredible
I cannot fathom the idiots who leave a one star rating for the app in demo mode who have never tried the Hardware- or read the description. Whatever. Real spectrum analyzer devices are not dirt cheap, and the adage of getting what you pay for stands up for Oscium spec an devices. The ability to use your iPhone/iPad or now also Android tablet or phone as the display front end of a real spectrum analyzer is very handy. Those who understand spectrum analysis will appreciate the very powerful paradigm Oscium has created. Those who don’t will write bad reviews on products they haven’t even used. Pffft.

Works well. But you need the antenna!
Read the negative reviews and don’t understand the need for them. It won’t work without the required antenna. If you’re downloading the app to perform “wireless surveying” on an iPhone/iPad and you were expecting it to work via the built in wireless receiver, you’re probably in the wrong job.
The app works perfectly fine with the WiPry-Pro adapter, but only does 2.4Ghz. The demo of the app suggests it supports other adapters, but I haven’t tested any others.
Really useful for identifying consistently noisy channels.

Why do you need $$$$ apparatus?
There is a android app that does not need expensive add on. Not sure why this one does. Yes they say it needs it. I hit this several years ago and pretty sure it had some use then - now it does not without $$.
MUST HAVE HARDWARE - don’t download
$300-$500 is what it takes to make this app functional. Yes, after downloading the app you must purchase “the hardware.” Very misleading and a real waste of time.

Yes, I have the WiPri 5X hardware - it shows the spectrum, but as soon as you enable the SSID display, it pops up an error that the device is drawing too much power (on iPhone X), the hardware powers off, and the app crashes.

Device can not be powered off iPad?
Borrowing the antenna/dongle from a friend to try this out. Considering buying a few for company use. Unfortunately it’s not going well.
Every time I turn on SSIDs, it tells me that my iPad cannot supply enough power... Without SSIDs it’s pretty useless to me.

Fantastic 2.4ghz spectrum analyzer
For a wifi spectrum analyzer in this price range, it works marvelously. I have had this for several years now and I think my iPhone 4s is the only problem.(just a little slow) If I bought an adapter for my iPhone 8 plus I'm sure it would work great with it.
