Great improvements, with one bug in distance tracking
I have been a loyal user of the Wise Pilgrim app for the past four years, consistently relying on it as my go-to guide for the Camino Frances. It is, and remains, the best tool for navigation and keeping track of what lies ahead. I am particularly impressed with the recent updates, especially the new feature that allows for one-tap WhatsApp contact with accommodations—it is incredibly convenient.
I wanted to report a bug I’ve noticed in the latest version regarding how the total distance is calculated:
• The Issue: The app currently seems to sum the distances of all alternate routes together, rather than calculating based on the specific path chosen.
• The Result: The total distance is being inflated by including the mileage of variants (e.g., the Luquin variant). This leads to an inaccurate total (showing 514 miles instead of the standard 483).
• Recommendation: It would be a significant improvement if the total distance could update dynamically based on the specific variant or path the user selects, rather than aggregating every possible route.
Thank you for your ongoing hard work on this app. It is an essential companion for the Camino, and I look forward to seeing this fixed in a future update!

Love it, except...
I really relied on wise pilgrim for this trip. Only issue is that the route distance from Pontevedra north is incorrect due to conflating the central and spiritual routes. My itinerary says there are 80km between cada de Reis and Padron when there are really only 20. App deserves 5 stars if this is fixed

Essential app for Camino
Most pilgrims seem to use this. Route information is very clear. Albergue are very often full especially those on booking sites so great to have contact of others not on those sites. Thanks for this app I used it many times every day helen

Great app, but…
Loving your app. Better than alternatives I tried. But… in the latest update, my navigation arrow is pointing in the wrong direction. I have an iPhone 17 Pro. Hopefully you can fix soon. I found no other way to contact you, sorry.

Second time, the wiser
I’m walking the Camino Norte for the second time and this time, based on a cue from a fellow pilgrim, I decided to download and use (the free version) of this app. It’s proving to be the most useful and best designed for real time, on the Camino while walking information. So many great design decisions about how this works (eg being able to pin where you’re at so it hides things prior).
A few improvements I’d love to see:
1. Distance and altitude difference when choosing an alternate route.
2. Post comments to a web crawl-able place (they seem to currently stay within the app and is not discoverable y anyone not on the app)

1 Star Porto, 5 Star French Way
For the French Way, the app is amazing!!!!! For the Porto coastal to central route, the distance calculations are not correct. For example, it shows Tivo to Compostella at around 70 km. The Portuguese route needs verification and updating.

Portugal Green Route Error
I had tried to find a way to inform the developer that there is an error in the Portuguese green route but there is no way to contact them. It shows 65 kilometers from Caldas de Reis to Padron which is not correct - the app looked great but with no way to contact folks when there is a bug it seems problematic to me

Feedback on v4.0.1
I’m currently walking Via de la Plata and have been using the app before and after the major update. The app has been fantastic but there are some issues with the new version
- Please add a scale on the map. I have no way of telling if the turning ahead is 100m or 10km
- “Distance from you” can be widly inaccurate - sometimes reporting half or double the actual distance (as tracked on other apps). It can be draining to think you’re nearly there, only to find there’s an extra hour walk required. The maths should surely be able to be accurate to within less than 5km.
- Crashing in background. It seems every time I toggle to another app and then come back to All Caminos, the app needs to restart.
Otherwise I love the app and have been using it every day. Thanks for creating.

Fantastic App!
Excellent app - helps you plan your Camiño route - distances, places to eat and stay, and what to expect. I have used it for both the Camino Frances and the Portuguese Camino and found it indispensable.
Great planning tool
This is a super App for planning your Camino as you see all the distances & accommodation for many Camino routes. Once you have decided which Camino to do, upgrade to the specific Camino and you will have all your route guidance at your fingertips.
Excellent App
Easy to use, needs to be updated but still okay. I loved it that you can tell what amenities are available such as hospital, food and transportation.
Planning Stages Portuguese Camino 2025
I find Wise Pilgrim App the best Camino app I have used. From the general explanations in the Menu to actually planning my walking days with the added benefit of accommodation, cafes etc, it’s just great! As a 75 y.o solo traveller, this is perfect for me! 😎🙌🙌
Good when working
Unfortunately live location freezes a lot and I can’t see my exact location on the route, especially when WiFi is not working. Also I think some parts of the Camino have change, new roads and roundabout were build etc. making this app a bit out of date.

Although wise Pilgrim is my go to app I have consistently found almost 80% of the albergues have increased their prices. Additionally and quite frustratingly, it seems over 90% of comments have no dates! what that really means is there may be a comment several years old and the issue has been fixed. This makes the information incorrect and misleading.Perhaps Michael could require a month and year to be added to every comment?
