The previous version of the app was more user friendly. The recent update prevents you from changing screen to screen and it is more clunky and not as seem less as the previous version.

Reported Bugs

26 issues

App crashes constantly after entering info and swiping to the second page.

Bug

App crashes every time I turn the page from the start.

Bug

App closes every time you try to change the state.

Bug

None of the information entered shows up in the fields.

Bug

Can't see the input entries with this new grey background!

Bug

Output data is far from actual.

Bug

App opens but does not accept any inputs.

Bug

App crashes every time I open it after iOS update.

Bug

The gross amount is clear at the top of the screen and does not allow it to work.

Bug

The app graphics are not optimized for iPhone X. The very top of the screen extends into the β€˜Notch’, causing the top field to be obstructed by it.

Bug

When adding extra Witholding amounts on the 'Advanced' screen, the amount is added twice on the results screen, both on the "Federal w/h" line, and in the "Extra Federal w/h" line, thus doubling the extra contribution when those two lines are added together in the "Total Federal w/h" line.

Bug

In advanced mode retirement withholding is not taken into account.

Bug

NJ sui/sdi is not calculated

Bug

if you have extra state /or federal withholding it wont show the correct amount in the basic screen, you have to go to to the advanced screen to see the correct amount.

Bug

Federal income tax, is was off by 6 cents, not much but still off.

Bug

California state tax is messed up since the latest update

Bug

Federal and California withholdings are off by a good $150 dollars!

Bug

This app does not deduct the correct federal amount.

Bug

The previous version of the app was more user friendly. The recent update prevents you from changing screen to screen and it is more clunky and not as seem less as the previous version.

Bug

It looks like they changed the format from one screen to a bunch of screens to swipe and now everything lags.

Bug

They redesigned a very nice app and it’s basically a joke now. Absolutely no graphics, a bizarre swipe method and a confusing layout.

Bug

Tax rats aren’t loaded correctly. They don’t match my previous pay stubs. For example, federal with holding is about $100 off.

Bug

All of the tax amounts match, give or take a few cents, however the Paycheck Net is off. The app indicates $35.46 more than my actual Net Pay. Then I discovered it’s because the app does not automatically factor in CA SUI/SDI Tax. It forces me to annotate this for β€˜Extra State Withholding’.

Bug

The recent update you loaded is not the current tax tables.

Bug

Since the update on 2/19/2020 this app no longer works.

Bug

App is now broken and vastly inaccurate (at least for IL)!

It helps you optimize your monthly budget and prepare for tax season.

What are the key features of WithholdingCalc?

Key features include estimating tax withholding, inputting gross pay and deductions, specifying filing status and allowances, and an advanced view for extra withholding. It supports 41 states with income tax and is based on current tax rates. Future updates will include hourly pay rate calculations and local tax options.

Is WithholdingCalc free to use?

What tax rates does WithholdingCalc use?

The app is based on current 2018 tax rates for most federal and state income taxes in the 41 states that have income tax, plus the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. The developers plan to update the app as further tax rate changes occur.
