Not as good as previous version
Up-to-date, informative local news. Unfortunately, once you select a news story, you are forced to go back to the main page to go to the next story. There’s no way to swipe through to the next. Terrible feature. Go back to the previous version. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Constant Alerts
My phone always says I have an alert from WITN. I can’t remove it!! I can remove the app if I can’t resolve it though!

Autoplays videos and ignores the silent switch on the iPhone. I had to delete it.
Go back to the previous app format
New format is difficult to use. It is harder to find the items you want to see.
Too many ads
App has too many ads. Click on app and ad covers entire screen and witn doesn’t come up. Going to remove from my iPad.

“New” look
I would give less than 1 star if I could. I used to have only WITN app on my phone. After this week, I will be deleting it. I want to be able to read or listen to the news but now the app has maybe 6-8 real headlines mixed in with or followed by dozens of fake headlines for click bait ads. This diminishes the news stories being presented and leaves one to wonder if the stories aren’t perhaps click bait as well.

Why the change???
I definitely do NOT like the new design/layout/whatever-this-is! And forced compliance just to stay updated?? WRONG! I’m an adult, not a teenager who needs to be constantly entertained, in order for you to keep my attention. Return to the previous style at least as an option. Thank you.

The initial ads are too long. They need to be removed.
Ads with update
Each time the app opens with you have exit out of an ad to proceed. You have to be cautious to make sure you click the small “x” or you’ll be taken to the ad’s gimmick. This is takes away from the convenience that the previous version had. Please remove this feature as it becomes a hassle each time to access the news features.

Outdated UI & Malicious Ads
Ads are obnoxious and contain malicious links. This is very predatory considering the elderly demographic that actually still reads the news are likely the majority of users on the app.

App freezes
For the past couple of weeks the app has been freezing when I select a news story to read. It will pull up the story and as I start to read it, the screen goes blank and never comes back. Please fix!!!!
Do not recommend
Rude, disrespectful and uncaring employees who don’t care about a family’s loss and posting photos of wrecks before the family can be notified. Then making horrible excuses for doing so. Basically they only care about how many clicks they get. Well no more from me. Uninstalled all WITN apps and unfollowed on all social media.

Tired of intrusive ads
Like many other reviewers have noted, this app has gone downhill. Ads are a large part of my frustration, I understand they’re part if what keeps the app afloat, but there has to be a line. If I click a notification of a news briefing, I should be taken directly to that briefing. I should not have to sit there while a full page ad plays until the timer ends, then have to search through all of the news stories to find the one that should have been directly linked. I could handle ads on the article page, but having to wait only to then have to find the story myself, ridiculous. The separate app for weather is also annoying, but I could get over it. The point of the app is to make it easier for people who aren’t able to watch the scheduled broadcasts, but it feels like the app is designed with a focus on being most beneficial towards their advertisers, not the people using the app.
