Ads with malicious links
This app just keeps getting worse. Can’t read a story before seeing an ad. But now there are ads with malicious links. They will never have a story worth losing your phone or your info.

Page layout is very dull. Needs to look more like WLEX web page. The old layout was much better.
Terrible update
The new update has ruined my former favorite news app. It is slow to load, cluttered with ads, and difficult to navigate. Looks like I will be getting news elsewhere.
Stop Ads/Videos with audio
Even with my phone on silent mode the ads/videos play at max volume and there’s no way to change the autoplay settings.

I quit using this app since I cannot open it in a public setting. The autoplay is extremely annoying and embarrassing.

If you want a better review, put an option to not allow videos to automatically play. It’s quite annoying if you’re in a public place trying to read the news and other people get disturbed because your phone starts playing audio and video without being prompted by me the user. I hate your app. I’m tempted to delete it. Fix it or you can keep it.

App Not Loading
There appears to be an issue with the new version of the WKYT news app. It will not load and goes back to the app. (11/19/2021)

The font is too small and cannot be adjusted. Pop up ads are BS. Video plays without being prompted.

Your app doesn’t work correctly for me. Never since I downloaded the app has it worked correctly. I primarily use your app on my iPad.
It doesn’t work to check the weather, News etc.

Turn off the stupid autoplay!
If I want to watch a video, I’ll click on the video to watch it. Having videos play at full volume every time you click to read an article is not a good thing. I can’t even use this app if I’m in public these days because of the stupidity of the autoplay feature. May just delete the app since I can no longer use it and have to go to the website with my browser.

Auto play is loud and cannot be disabled
The updated app 1Q 2026 is annoying to the point where I am uninstalling it. Apps have costs, I know, and ads pay the bills, but forcing loud advertising on me and my family without any controllable settings pushes me away.

Unable to turn off autoplay
Video clips automatically play and I’ve been unable to locate a setting to turn autoplay off. I use the app to read the news while doing other things, now I’m unable to do that without interruption.
App ads are intrusive
This app would be alright if the d@$& this didn’t overlay ads on everything, including playing video ads automatically with each news article.
Used to be my go to for KY news, but no more. WLEX has a better app interface and the ads aren’t smacking you in the face all the time.

Can’t stop videos from autoplay.
Can’t stop videos from autoplay. This makes it unusable. Once again this morning quiet house phone is on silent. I opened the app. Click on the first article not the video and the ad plays full volume on my phone. Unfortunately, what used to be the first place I went for news is now going to be the last place if I even go there until this app is fixed.
