I give only 4 stars because the interface is only 802.11b.
Still not working
New WMI-1 arrived today and app still does not recognize it. I’m able to connect to the devices WiFi signal but the app is unable to find it, so it’s useless. I’ve already started the return process for the WMI-1. Such a shame.
Now works on IOS 14
I was very disappointed to see that the WMI app did not work with IOS 14 a few months ago. I’ve held off on reviewing the app since I heard that HK was working on the issue. Now that the bug has been worked out, the app works great. I’m now able to fully control my Grandmeister 40 Deluxe via iPad. I’m also currently on iOS version 14.3
Hope this helps anyone looking to decide on getting the WMI-1.
I have the WMI-1 unit set to AP Client which generates it own personal WiFi network. I have not yet tried the other method that makes it part of your local WiFi network.

iOS 14 crash
iOS 14 killed all connections to WMI-1 module. Doesn’t work in WiFi mode or stand alone. This kills your connection to all GM control apps, rendering both obsolete. After long emails with H&K there doesn’t seem to be a solution. Basically denying there’s an issue on their end. Hmmm
I’ve also been in contact with iOS team, and all solutions failed.
You may want to rethink buying an amp, if this feature was part of your choice to buy from H&K. JS
