Great uniqe word lookup
Saved me when I needed help coming up with ideas by word for my writing
Very disappointed.
Stick with Wolfram Alpha - this app excels at nothing other than chipping away at your net worth and increasing your icon count by one.

Doesn't work properly. Fails to compute a lot.
Overpriced and not useful.
The free, general app has the same information, or you could get a free dictionary app that will let you link from the results, instead of requiring a new search every time.

Absolutely love Wolfram Alpha apps normally. So I expected this to be good. At the very least I expected it to work.
It tries to work (when it's connected to the internet) but, for example, trying to find synonyms for the word "safe" brings information on a movie. Utterly useless and is no substitute for any number of websites that do this free. Poor show guys.

Was looking forward to purchasing this app.
But can away totally disappointed. given how great the WolframAlpha app is, I decided to flip a buck for this - and I wish I had that 99 cents back.
The UI is hideous, and hasn’t been updated in years. The look, feel and response all seem from am iOS two, three versions ago.
It does what it purports to do fairly well, but from an outfit such as Wolfram, I just expected more. So two stars for its creation, existence and filling a niche, but three stars off for horrible implementation and UI.

The Best!
Very good app with plenty of features
Don't Buy....
Awful app and simply doesn't work (at all..). Avoid.
Keyboard obscures screen when I type
With the Wolfram name I expected a great deal. I am disappointed. When I type in a word that needs definition, the keyboard obscures the text entry field. I can't see the words I am typing in.
Horrible
Poorly designed, poorly executed, and incredibly shallow information. Got fooled by the Wolfram name.
Accessibility
The user interface is very unfriendly for someone with a vision impairement. I like the idea, but would like the font/layout to be abit "eaiser" on the eye. I think the designers could at the very least, offer a larger font, and a second "layout" choice of white font on black background?!

buggy, overpriced, under-designed
Wolfram Alpha should be embarrassed to have their name on this half-baked app. When it works, it's surprisingly unhelpful. When it doesn't work, the error messages (or lack thereof) are confusing. I try it periodically (naively) and it's 50-50 whether it will even return an answer for something simple like finding words containing "qu".

Does not do synonyms
Asked for synonyms for "generous" - no synonyms produced.
I expect much better from Wolfram
I entered the word "example" and it said that it didn't understand my input. I entered the word "test" and again it didn't understand? Eventually I managed a word it had heard of before, but these are hardly obscure.
When you go back from definition to synonym, say, it forgets the word you entered so you have to type it in again.
I bought this product on the reputation of Wolfram Alpha (of which I am a big fan) and I have to say I am deeply disappointed. Now, how do I get a refund from Apple?

Unnecessary and Incomplete
Everything here can be done through the full WolframAlpha app or the WolframAlpha web site. If you've already paid for the full app, no need to shell out the additional buck for this.
If you do buy it, prepare for disappointment. The words WA knows is a severely limited set. I attempted to use the Anagrams function to find anagrams of my name. It found none. The Internet Anagram Server finds almost 1400, and I could do a dozen just off the top of my head.
If you happen to hit the words WA knows, the information is interesting and in-depth. I recommend the full app. though. You'll get much better value for that price.

this is garbage on the ipod, but very useful on the ipad.
Useful
It's a useful app but it constantly crashes or freezes so I uninstalled it.
missing too many words
I play scrabble and attempted to use this app. Too many times words found in scrabble dictionaries were "unknown" on this app. No good.
Disappointing limited Lexicon
I bought this on Wolframs reputation and I am very disappointed in the limited lexicon. Most times Wolfram cannot find a word I am searching.
I am going to remove this app because Webster's has a better success at finding definitions than Wolfram.
I really expected more from Wolfram. I question whether the Wolfram of Mathmatica fame even still exists.

Needs more work
Immediately freezes on startup on iphone 4S. Starts to work after 30 secs or so and then very slow and working intermittently. Also, has some definite words missing! Please upgrade as this isn't a cheap app!!!
