Not the best, not the worst

I find woodpecker tools difficult to use. It is not natural or intuitive to save words or create flashcards. I also dislike the fact that the target language subtitles are beneath the video in a separate box and not on the video as if they were dual subtitles unfortunately I already paid for the years subscription. I canceled woodpecker tools because it just was not useful. The upside to this app is that you can play the videos from Netflix natively in the app on the iPad. This is an improvement over other tools in my language reactor where you have to use an extension on a desktop.

Confusing Pricing Scheme

This language learning app looks very promising. It focuses foremost on the methodology of comprehensible input (via audio, video, and text), and it provides a dictionary for reference and vocabulary building via flashcards as well.

What’s not clear to me is the price. It seems to offer separate prices for each individual module, and I don’t know whether the user has the option of a single price that includes ALL the components and features of the app.

No app should make it difficult for its users to figure out the pricing model.

Are there subscription plans for the whole app based on monthly, quarterly, and annual billing? Is there a single-payment (lifetime) option? Or is the pricing strictly “a la carte” for each separate module?

Don’t make us work hard to figure this out — especially considering that your app appears to be robust for language learners.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. We have one subscription for iPad users "Unlimited Video Player" - this unlocks Netflix in the Woodpecker app letting you watch Netflix content (with a valid Netflix subscription). This is by month or annually. We have a separate monthly subscription in the Woodpecker iOS iPhone app "Woodpecker Tools". This unlocks flash cards, web browsing, and saved word exports. Legacy purchase options (while displayed on the app store page) are no longer for sale in in the app. Please send us a note with additional recommendations or feedback to support@woodpeckerlearning.com Thank you!
