Miles aren’t credited

My walks are in my history but they are not credited to my rescue. This has been going on for a while. I’ve emailed support and have not received a reply. So frustrating and unfair! I’ve lost so many miles that should have been credited.

Great app— good for pets and people!

Easy to use, benefits my fave pup cause, and motivates my husband to walk, too— all about earning my pup’s points!

Good cause but lacking updates

I really want to love this app especially because the purpose is to going to a good cause. Obviously supporting dog rescues and dogs in general is my main objective of using this app, however it’s pretty annoying to use. Not only does it drain my battery on my phone while using it there is no feature to upload GPS files from Garmin watches if you forget to use your phone or want to leave it behind. I typically don’t like using my phone for GPS primarily because it kills the battery while hiking and obviously in certain circumstances that leaves for an unsafe situation. I hike and walk daily so this is extremely frustrating. I really wish this company would make a feature to upload GPS files similar to Strava. Otherwise, I really like the idea and obviously enjoy helping charities with dogs.

Response from developer

WoofTrax is currently not available for smartwatches and connected devices, including Apple Watch or Garmin, but it is something we are looking into! We appreciate your feedback and will pass along your suggestion about adding a feature to upload GPS files to our development team. Thanks! 🐾

Great idea

Unfortunately it doesn’t support any rescues in Canada

Great way to support

Joined WoofTrax to support my local humane society. Being able to walk my dog and shelter dogs to support is a great way to stay motivated. I love the ranking and history feature

The ads ruin the app

In response to the developers’ response:
The ads that appear after you complete a walk now are NOT easily closed by clicking an “x” in the corner. They used to be static ads that were easy to close. Now the ads are mostly videos that require some kind of interaction to close them, or at least require them to play for several seconds before they can be closed. This makes the app practically unusable.
Again, these interactive ads are now appearing when you finish a walk, not just when you click “Earn 5 extra points.” I’ve resorted to force quitting the app and reopening it just to bypass these highly annoying ads.

I use this app to track my dog walks (time and distance) and hopefully raise money for my favorite rescue. I have no idea if the rescue actually ever sees any money from it. The map feature allows me to plot walks in new areas, which is great.
The only reason for the low rating is the advertising; it makes the app almost unusable. The ads are often detrimental to the app functioning properly. Especially bad are the video ads that appear when you click “Earn 5 extra points.” These often cause the app to freeze and require a reboot. And the ads you need to click “continue” on to finish watching are the worst. Why not stick with static (not video) ads that are related to animals and animal care? That would be a vast improvement.

Response from developer

Hi Grubbieduc, We appreciate your feedback! Google serves the ads on WoofTrax, we do not select them. After a walk, you should see an ad, and then you can choose to watch an optional ad for an extra 5 points if you like. When you see an ad after a walk, there should be a way to close the ad. There should be a small “X” at the top left or right of the screen, or there should be a button with the word “Close”. WoofTrax is able to donate to animal charities thanks to our sponsors and advertisers, including advertising on the app. If you have questions please email support@wooftrax.com. Thanks!🐾

Are they legit-do they forward funds???

I wrote to Wooftrax on 3 January when I realized my charity was no longer in business. I did speak with someone there and they did not receive any funds from Wolf tracks. I had used Wooftrax for a while certainly more than a year which they say they pay quarterly. I reached out to their customer service and as of yet over three weeks later, I have not received any response. Nothing including a will check into it or anything. I know it’s not tons of money, but don’t mislead people. Don’t tell them that you’re going to donate money and then not donate it. Be accountable.

Crashing

This app started off great. I encouraged the group I volunteer for to sign up, they did. Since the last two updates (prior to 1/30/15), it crashes more than works properly. I've missed several walks for my rescue groups-disappointed.

4/15/16
iOS is updated, app is updated, the app has been randomly quitting right after I start my walk.
If I could I would give zero stars. Terrific idea, but if it quits & doesn't record walk the Groups I walk for are missing out.
I have an email communication going & less than pleased with the responses. I've sent several screen shots of issue.
Please rectify this issue.
I will be using RESQWALK instead.

Broken

They did an upgrade and now I’m unable to share my walks.

Used to like it

This was such a great app for tracking my dog walks. Now, in order to save a walk you have to watch an ad? I guess I’m done with it now.

Misleading

The still haven’t paid the charity I walk for in over a year. Do not waste your time on this app.

Latest app update 10/2022

Update 12/2025 guess I’m finally done with Wooftrax, used to like it, but now it’s all about ads to the point of being totally annoying.
My 2022 review is below. Been using the app for about 2 years. Last night the app updated to its latest version. Looks different and needs getting used to. Sad part is that my history and walks are now messed up. Also my challenges only reflect walks taken after the app update, the pat walks are not showing anymore 🙄 App is using in app advertising to finance the donations.

Update, developer reached out and said they are working on some fixes.

Another issue that’s quite annoying, when you’re done walking, the app will display an ad, but in the new version the close button is moved so far up on the display that it’s virtually impossible to close the ad. I have to force close the app to get out of this screen.

These are things the developers could have checked prior to releasing the app. Smh

Easy and Fun!

This App is so simple to use. Just tap when you start & tap when you end. Brilliant! I use it every day to record our walks and earn points for my favorite charity.

Frozen on line

Can’t get it opened after forgetting to turn it off. Don’t want to lose my 3270 miles and start over. Please help fix this.

Unable to access account

I tried to reset password, no password reset email received.
I can’t create a new account.
I don’t want to create an account with a third party app.

Functionality

I like the app. Its easy to use and enjoy knowing how far my fur baby and i walk together. My only question, i identified the shelter i got my dog from. What do they get related to the points we get for walking?

Multiple issues

Encountered log in issues using my Facebook account so I had to use another authentication method. Furthermore, it’s not allowing me to proceed to the next step after choosing any foundation from the list

Sick of being cheated

I ‘ve used this app for over a decade. Until about a year and a half ago I had zero problems. Since then I do NOT get credit for all my walks. My history does Not match the charity points bar. About a third of the time I get only 5 points instead of the 15 my history shows. So I walk a quarter mile and watch an irritating video or 2 and that’s all I get. Sometimes I get nothing. Over the course of a year this adds up to thousands of charity points. Charities are being cheated. I have written many times about this problem but whatever bot is reading it makes it disappear. I’m really disappointed. Yes background refresh is on. The charity points never upload. Sometimes that takes away points. I’m sick of it. I am deleting.

UPDATE: Hi Loki is the best, Sorry for your frustration! Please email support@wooftrax.com so our support team can assist you. It’s good you checked Background App Refresh is ON as that can cause issues with walking tracking if it’s set to OFF. You will also want to make sure each walk is .25 miles or greater. If your walks are not uploading, it could be a data connection issue, or you may need to reset the app by logging out and signing back in. Thanks for your patience. Jul 9, 2024: Hi Loki is the best, Thanks for your feedback! We have fixed the issue with the Walk Map screen displaying only 2 decimal points for distance and released a new update (6.9.25) - please update now. Once your walks on the Walk Map reach 0.250 miles or more your walk will earn 10 charity points. Weekly goals have been a long asked for feature and was actually on an earlier version of WoofTrax for several years. One of the main reasons we have re-introduced Weekly Goals is that pet parents like yourself often use this to keep their pet in a healthy weight range. Veterinarians will often recommend that a dog is walked a certain number of miles per week to keep them as healthy as possible. Also at times, its not possible to do a walk every day if the weather is poor for what ever reason. We do realize we could have done a better job of giving notice that this update was coming, and apologize for the sudden change. And given your feedback, we will discuss with our team adding in a Daily Goals option in addition to the new Weekly Goals format. Thanks for your patience.

Great App

Love this app and I can keep track of my pups wand I walking. I also love that it also maps out where we walk. And this app is FREE which is a BIG PLUS

Love it!!!

I love this app. I use it for my own dogs but also as a dog walker. I love that you can choose multiple or single dogs and that it gives you the option to share the walk!
