I've been playing this game a long time & it’s still wonderfully clever.
Wish they did make it so hard as you level up, but it’s much better than it used to be. I hope someone there is still updating words…

Word Abacus
I’ve enjoyed word, abacus for several years. It keeps my mind sharp to look for all kinds of words at various angles. All of a sudden the screen no longer comes up horizontal, but when the game starts it is stuck in the vertical position.The game used to allow one to play with the letters horizontally, or rotate the entire screen to be 180° in the other direction, or play the game vertically. Now when the game starts one can’t rotate the screen the screen remains locked in the vertical position and it’s hard to play the game 100% of the time stuck in the vertical position.

Abacus needs further refining. There are many words still not accepted but are correct words e.g pend.
Great game until the ending
I love this game BUT when you get to a certain level it is impossible to play. Then it abruptly ends. I can’t even see what level I was on before it starts on level one again. If that can be fixed the game would be awesome.
Best ever word game
My iPad keeps saying developer needs to upgrade , making iPad slow ? I love it , not another game like it .played it for years .

Can’t make it past level 14
I love this game and had it for a few years now. I do have a major gripe with it though.... No matter how many times I have played this game, I can’t get past level 14... can anyone else? It seems to just shoot out the red circles of death continuously after like, level 10 and it gets worse from 11 to 14, you just don’t get enough time to get rid of them al even if you make words with multiple red circled letters, plus it seems like the game also seals your fate by putting out more and more Xs and Zs and Qs! The makers of this game really should slow up on the red circled letters and allow more vowels... oh and don’t limit the three letter words, we should be able to use them when and if we can!

Frustrated
I love this game...BUT, each time you get to an interesting level....and your highest score, the game ends.
Or just when it’s becoming interesting (level 12 onwards) you can never beat your previous score because you get a message “ “new highest score”, or “longest word achievement”....and bam, your back to level 1 😫
It would be great if the creators could give you the option of continuing the game, even if you have got your longest word - it feels like you are penalized because you’ve done a better job!!
And also a back button, for those odd times when you realize you’ve missed a letter.
Apart from that I love it! Spend tooooo much time on it probably!

AWFUL
I have been playing this game for years and loved it. The new version is awful. It freezes on a discontinued game, and sometimes the colored letters don’t show up unless you stop and reload the game. I understand that the ads must be shown, but going back to the game as it was doesn’t always work.

Very enjoyable, but sometimes I would like to be able to turn off the red letters. Too stressful!
Letters won’t rotate
Letters won’t rotate when phone is turned to landscape mode. How do you correct this difficiency?

Why does this game not save my progress? I always have to begin at Level 1

There is nothing else like Word Abaccus! It was brilliant for the developers to think of this and I cannot find anything else like this.

Update
My iPhone sent a message that the creator of this app needs to update it or it will slow my phone down. I have not seen an update ever. Forthcoming?
Red bars need to be more district/visible
The red indicators/bars showing status of game-ending words need to be more distinct. It's very difficult how many bars remain on a letter; I've had too many premature "game over" because the visual distinction isn't obvious enough. Frustrating!
Getting Old
I've been playing this game a long time! What is really getting on my nerves, is that once you reach about level 14, it starts throwing "X"s & "Z"s at you. It sets you up, that you cannot win at all – it's not even possible. You can be Miriam freakin' Webster and you will not win this game. In other words, it's not fair. For that reason, I'm getting quite tired of this potentially great game. Resolve for this problem would be to just suddenly crash, or, just make a statement that I'm too smart for you. God forbid, that I should reach some kind of "level 22".

Slow witted games
If you are slow witted with a mediocre education you will love this game. Words over an 8th grade level are not allowed.
Frustrating game
I like to play but do not understand why the game stops and a letter flashes when there is plenty of time left in the round. Very annoying that there is no guide book or hints available.

My friends and I were playing this and oe of my friends set a new high score which erased their game. It made me lol.

This game we enjoy playing,we will give it 5stars,the only downfall we find is when we get to level 12 onwards there is not enough time to think of words before the time runs out.
