Feedback on Devotional: “Stand on God’s Word (1)” – Tone and Message on Self-Forgiveness

I wanted to reach out with some feedback regarding the recent devotional titled “Stand on God’s Word (1)”. While I deeply value the encouragement to rest in God’s forgiveness, I was troubled by the way the message framed the struggle of self-forgiveness—particularly the claim that not forgiving oneself is committing the “sin of pride.”
As someone who has personally wrestled with self-forgiveness, I know that the journey is rarely rooted in arrogance or defiance of God’s word. More often, it stems from deep wounds, shame, trauma, or a long-standing inability to see oneself as worthy of grace—despite believing in God’s forgiveness intellectually. To label this struggle as sinful feels dismissive of the complex, emotional, and spiritual realities many people face.
What people in this place often need is not condemnation, but compassionate guidance. They need to know that God is not only just, but tender and patient; that transformation and healing take time; and that God is near to the brokenhearted, not disappointed in them for still being in process.
When devotionals lean into shame or imply moral failure in areas of deep struggle, they risk pushing readers further into isolation and discouragement. But when they speak truth with empathy, they can become lifelines of hope.
I hope you will consider offering language in future devotionals that reflects the patience, kindness, and gentleness of Christ—especially for those who are still finding their way toward wholeness.

Update needed?
App hasn’t been able to open for me for the last couple weeks. Not sure if it needs updating?
This is a very poor app
Very bad app not pleased with it at all very slow I tried to look for a bible reference but it just came up with a stupid message and that was not what I was looking for. Please fix your app I would like to find stuff when I look for it. This app is to emo/dark can you please change the colour to orange please.

Calendar
Why do the calendar dates not correspond with the actual date the reading it intended for? I feel I should press the day I’m on and get the day I’m on, not press the date for the previous day to get today’s reading. Otherwise it’s a clean easy-to-use app.
Small print?
Even when 'larger' print is pressed, the print is very small on my iPad. This fault has only occurred over the last few weeks. Can it be corrected please?

Good app.
Love the accessibility of the message, however the grammar isn't very good. Apostrophes are missing and it seems to be rushed. The paper version seems to have correct punctuation. Love the ideas and message though!
Insightful
A great app for thinking about how to live as a child of the Lord. Easy to read and understand, it's an insight into Christianity with a 21st century view point. Only criticism is the terrible spelling and seems to be bereft of any punctuation. He'll becomes hell, we'll becomes well. Doesn't change my understanding of the message but annoying none the less.

Won't load!
The app won't load anything except the bible. Keeps telling me I'm not connected to the internet, but I am, all other apps run fine except this one.

Maybe add a save to favourites button?
Love Word For You Today and the message that you guys give us. I just wish that I could download or favourite some of the text readings so I could look back on them later! That would be absolutely fantastic, like how I used to cut out the paper versions for reading later. That's my only complaint about it really :)

There is a lack of good quality Christian apps. I found that this was easy to read and relate to and was just enough 'food for thought' for the day ahead.

Great App
This app is a great tool for people wanting to make God's word part of their daily life. The great features make accessing the bible in audio or written form so easy, everything is all in the one place. I really think that this is worth getting. Has all the features you would expect in a paid app. One thing I would recommend is the creation of an app that uses the teenage Word4U2Day devotions too, so that this can reach to a wider audience.

This is A Great devotional
We read get the books at our church together during bible study. I pass them on to my children, and it has revived their Christen walk. Now, this app will make it more available to busy people who otherwise wouldn't slow down to eat daily bread.
