Great game! I love Scrabble and this is close enough. I play solo. Different levels of difficulty and a mode that helps you build higher scoring words!
New ad format stinks
Loved it for years even as the ads in the top bar got more distracting but really hating the new version with ads that automatically open up in your browser taking you away from the game entirely.
Awful
I played word master for years on my old phone. Pass and play with my grandchildren. New phone, installed word master, risqué, naked women come up in the advertising. Instant delete from the phone!
Been with Word Master Forever
The Best! I went with Word Master years ago primarily because of Limited Data Collection! This is now my 4th iPhone (17 Max), and installing it again. And for $5 bucks, I’ll be upgrading again too as it shows my appreciation for a well developed product. Cheers! -Mike

This was a great game until I noticed a malware popup. Ads were annoying, but malware is unacceptable

When you play against the computer on the “master” level, you notice inevitable patterns. One of them is that when you play the best possible word, a window pops up saying “You played the best word!” Immediately after that, the computer’s next word will be better than yours. Over fifty percent of the time, it will be twice as good as yours. This happens almost every single time. The statistical probability of this is close to zero.
Another pattern is that when you post a seven-letter word, at least eighty percent of the time the computer will follow it immediately with its own seven-letter word. Again, this is exceedingly improbable in a randomized letter selection.
Another pattern is that the computer will often post three or more seven-letter words in a row. Sometimes, it will post a couple of seven-letter words, then a “normal” word, then a seven-letter word again.
Another pattern is that when you find yourself inevitably behind the computer in score and you battle back, the moment you reach or overtake the computer, it will hit you with a seven-letter word. This happens too often to be random.
Another pattern is that when you start off strong and have built a lead, the computer will give you a no-vowel rack. If you are able to use a couple of the consonants, the computer will replace them with other consonants until the computer overtakes your lead. Alternatively, it will give you an all-vowel rack.
Another pattern is that if you have letters that are difficult to play, and you play a few of them for low score, the computer will replace them with the very same letters.
When the computer gives you an all-vowel rack, it will contain three or four of the same vowels. If you have four Es, for example, and you play an E and an O, it will usually replace them with two Es, until your rack is simply unplayable.
Another pattern is that at least eighty percent of the time when you play a “normal” word and the computer follows with its own “normal” word, then computer’s word will be worth three or four points more than yours. It will do this consistently. If you play a 26-point word, for example, it will respond with a 29-point word. You then play a 34-point word followed by the computer’s 38-point word. You then come up with a 52-point word, so the computer answers with a 60-point word. And so forth.
Another pattern is that the computer will play bizarrely obscure words. When you highlight the word to find its definition, it will say “Alternate spelling of…” or it will be a transliteration of a foreign word. If you try playing an “alternate spelling” of any word, it will be rejected.
If you play a two-person game, and you play as both persons, none of these patterns arise. When two players are involved, the letter distribution looks random. When you play against the computer at “master” level, the computer stacks the deck against you.

The game keeps me thinking about words snd spelling rather than all the ill people surrounding me .

Enjoying it a lot. Wonder what dictionary it uses. It accepts some strange words but well done

The only thing to piss you off is the adverts. Otherwise, great game.
I DELETED THE APP AFTER A FEW HOURS
Majong ads stuck in a loop caused me to delete the app after 4 hours or something. I played 2-3 games, stopped, when I tried to play later I couldn’t. It opened with a Majong ads that never stopped !
I originally chose “No, on following my data across apps.” ( however you say that, I’m blanking out) Anyway if that’s the policy, it sucks. ( the game itself has some things I didn’t like anyway. It always was like that whenever I used it)

Why are we seeing banner ads?
I thought this version was ad-free.VERY distracting!!
Seemingly addictive!
Really good, as a wannabe wordsmith, i love it- not ready for the Hard level yet, but one day, i will be…hopefully!
Too easy to win
Wouldn’t let me write a review when I gave it two stars so gave it three and it opened right up. I would have to deliberately lose. After playing this game hundreds of times I win every time with high scores no matter how many times I get multiple vowels or consonants delt at the same time. The computer doesn’t even try to win. I play this game because I hope the format will change back to being challenging once more. Please make this game challenging.

Game no longer accurately shows all found words in results.
Useless
As a word scoring game one would expect as a minimum that it adds scores correctly. It doesn’t. Scores are wildly inaccurate.

Additional Setting Suggestion
Playing Classic Solo at Master level gives a great game, which is spoiled only by the 50 point bonus given for using all seven letters. This is achieved much more often by the game, than can be managed by a human user, and the only counter-strategy is to immediately Reset any game where this happens. An additional setting to remove this rule, would make the game much more attractive.
