This app was recommended to me by my son’s speech therapist. After purchasing I started adding photos until it stopped and told me I could only add 8 unless I purchased the full version. What the heck did I purchase then! Glaring bug with an easy fix but apparently this “developer” was an intern.

Love this APP even with bugs
This is a favorite! I’m a pediatric SLP and love that I can adapt this to get a good understanding of receptive vocabulary in my preschool students. I’m able to see what classmates they recognize too.
This app has awesome capabilities but crashes all the time
I am an SLP, BCBA, administrator, and mom to three kiddos. I love the concept of this app. I’ve had this app for about 7 years. Even with updates, the crashes and glitches still haven’t been corrected. The glitches that I have found is that the app crashes (freezes or closes completely) or restricts me to lite version options ( even though I’m using the paid version.). This app has amazing customization and practical use. I’ve used it to teach phonics, multiplication, division, letter ID, vocabulary, categorization, feelings, site words and more. Please fix the glitches!

Lacking versatility
I love this learning game and the concept. It is cool that you can take pictures and add to the categories. However, the categories is seriously lacking. Please add more options to rotate threw in each category and have more then just two categories. In the animals categories the base should be bigger before I have to add to it. I don’t have access to add real pictures of say monkeys, sloths, giraffes... and more categories example insects, musical instruments... it’s very time consuming adding all this in and getting access to take a picture. I expected more from a paid app.
P.s some parents might find to many options would make it to difficult per category. However this app does have you covered for that. You can shut off some pictures from rotating threw until your child learns a few, then you can slowly add in more each time you play. A very good feature if they build up the pre loaded categories. I sincerely hope they do.

Don’t buy
Has not been updated for iOS 11, and won’t even open. I have sent messages to the developer with no response. I spent hours getting this app set up and adding pictures, and got to use it for less than a week.

Worst App I Ever Paid For
I am a speech therapist and I bought this app to work with kids who need to identify words in a field of 3 or more. This app is a complete joke and a total rip off. I paid $4.99 for this and there are 2 categories, animals and colors. If I want more, I have to do all the work to take pictures and add them myself. I am shocked that they have not done anything with this or provided any content. It's like a "lite" version of an app, but I actually bought it. Seriously, DO NOT waste your money.

Fantastic App!
My grandson has been diagnosed autistic so I've been looking around for apps he would like and use. He absolutely loves this app. He is 3 years old. I've taken pictures of mommy, daddy, grandma and papaw, the pets, and anything he is familiar with. I started him off with just one choice just so he could get used to the app. He can do multiple choice too now. I highly recommend this app. It makes everything personalized for your child but also contains a library of items. Very user friendly to set up.

Screen freezes
I love the idea of this app and was really happy with the lite version. Now that I've created some new categories, the screen freezes on the second or third round - no voice recording, no response to touch. Once this bug is fixed, I'll love this app!
Word Slapps -- it's not working right anymore
I had been using this to teach my son his weekly vocabulary words during this past school year. But, I had not used it since I updated it a few weeks ago. Since the update, it will show two or all three examples of (eg. banana) all in the same field of three. Often, it will not play my recorded definition of the word and then when we try to guess, the screen seems to be frozen: no sound and just doesn't respond to the touch. I am disappointed because I would have given this app 5 stars prior to these problems. Please fix these problems! Thanks!

Love This App!

Not worth the money
The screenshots looked so good, I bought the app for my students. Very disappointed. Boring and monotonous.
Love it
I love this app. We have a few communication apps but I have had a hard time teaching my 3yo to use them effectively. Talking to his speech therapist the problem was with his receptive language. This app has been great to both build his vocabulary and to fine tune his fine motor to be able to use the ipad more effectively. To build the categories I just googled anything I wanted and saved images to use. Super easy.
One request... Can you make a master library so that once you create an item you can rearrange it and use it in multiple categories without having to create it again?

A Classic!
I have over 250 apps but this is one I use regularly. My 7-12th MH students are so motivated by it to identify people, objects and steps of activities.
Love this app!
I have many many apps on my iPad, but this is the one app I always come back to. I use it as a structured activity for receptive language skills and can usually predict active participation and interest with the toddlers I see.
Fun!
I am having as much fun adding categories as my kids are playing and learning with this app! Great job!
Great app
This is an awesome app for my son with down syndrome. The new organization is wonderful for working on specific words. I would love to see a way to import and export the pictures and audio, so that we can share with other users of the app. It is time consuming to put in each picture and record.
Must-have app for the SLP!
I'm a school-based speech-language pathologist. Your Word SLapPs software is VERY well done! It's easy-to-use and let's me create activities that focus on both receptive AND expressive skills for feature, function, class, intraverbals, tacting and echoics.
I particularly like the feature where the stimulus audio repeats when the student chooses an incorrect picture. The variety of animations & audio for choosing the correct answer is an outstanding feature, too. Of the speech therapy apps that are out there, this one is the most helpful because it lets me customize the activities (pictures and verbal stimulus). The animation of the two kids who cheer at the end is a nice touch, too!

This app is wonderful for Early Childhood students and those with autism. I just got it an love it. It is easy to add your own content. I did a category of "friends" and imported pictures in seconds. Great App. I look forward to more from you. Thanks
WOW Amazing speech app
The update on this app is amazing! I used the app with my speech students who are working on identifying objects and people. I was so impressed that I was able to add icons that were specific to each student. I even used it as a choice board for my non-verbal students at snack time. Picture identification and face recognition is something my autistic students have lots of trouble with, this app helps me to customize each category to cater to each students needs.
