About
Turn vocabulary practice into a space adventure.
Word Universe brings together more than 30 short games for German and English vocabulary, spelling, grammar, and word recognition. Set your learning language, goal, starting band, and daily practice time, then follow a focused three-step learning plan.
A clearer path through practice
• Review words that are due
• Practise an activity selected for your goal
• Use words in sentence context
• Search the full catalogue or filter by skill
• Save favourite games and quickly return to recent ones
Practice that responds to you
• Spaced repetition prioritises difficult and new words
• Activities cover spelling, definitions, word types, sentence completion, compounds, confusable words, and more
• Progress summaries show completed practice and newly mastered items
• Focus mode reduces decorative motion and keeps learning actions prominent
For different kinds of learners
• Suitable for students, independent adult learners, and people learning German as a foreign or second language (DaF/DaZ)
• The four vocabulary levels are broad difficulty bands—not fixed school years, age groups, or CEFR levels
• Switch between German and English learning content
Private by design
• No account, advertising, or tracking
• Learning progress and learner preferences stay on your device
• German content is downloaded when first selected
The space theme keeps practice playful without assuming a particular age or classroom.

Better words, better questions. • Months, days and languages are spelled with their capital letters now, so January, Monday and English can be practised in the spelling games instead of being left out. • Explanations written above a child's reading level are no longer shown. Where a word has no explanation a child could read, it now shows none. • People's names are no longer asked as vocabulary words. • A wrong answer is never a word that would also have been right. Thousands of small corrections to the German and English word lists.
