WordADay - A Minimalistic Word of The Day App

Developed entirely by Ethan Arterberry, a thirteen-year old self-taught programmer, WordADay is a minimalistic word of the day app. It grabs a random word from the English dictionary, and then displays it, giving you the definition, part of speech, pronunciation, and an option to learn more about the word on Dictionary.com. ** ALL PROCEEDS of sales go to 13 year old programmer Ethan Arterberry to purchase a laptop to continue learning skills and following his dreams at home ** --- Hi! I'm Ethan Arterberry, 13 year old developer. I developed an app called WordADay, a randomized on demand word of the day app. As a teenager with severe ADHD, programming is my smart way to relax. I can learn at my own pace, without all of the distractions of a class of people. That was my goal in developing WordADay, to share interesting vocabulary with the world at a pace they set themselves. You can learn one word a day, twenty words a day, or even 200 words a day, if you're feeling inspired. It's up to you! I've been programming since I was 6. Programming is especially rewarding as a teenager with ADHD because it requires focus and hard work. Ever since I started programming, my focus in school and at home got much better because programming taught me to be patient. Programming isn't easy, and it isn't quick; much of the time I find myself spending an hour trying to position something correctly. Before I started programming focus seemed a distant, impossible goal. The thing is, at the time it was distant. What it was'nt was impossible. All I needed to do was work hard toward it. Complaining and doing nothing never got anyone anywhere. What does get people somewhere is hard work and perseverance. LanguageCraft and DiscoverAAC are great examples of sharing something great with the world and making things better. I believe in their work, and they believe in mine. I'm extremely grateful for everything they've done to make my life and millions of other lives better. WordADay is my first iPhone app, but it's far from my first rodeo: I experiment with many things over on my GitHub, which as I'm writing this has 75 projects of code publicly available. Coding is my life's work, and I've always wanted people to notice the amount of work I put into everything I do. Thanks for giving me a chance!
