THE ONE APP I CANNOT DO WITHOUT

I have had WordPalette for years. It’s trusted especially by me and thankful. No wondering if it will disappear or crash out. Connects with Microsoft Suite and can back up to my accounts. It’s awesome. Would love to see more uses in the future.

FAQ

What does WordPalette do?

WordPalette is a creative writing tool designed to help users overcome writer's block. It works by scrambling short poetic phrases from user-imported text sources into multiple sliding lanes. This allows users to discover unexpected word combinations and juxtapositions, sparking new ideas and creative directions.

How does the text scrambling feature work?

The app features up to six sliding lanes filled with intelligently scrambled text. These phrases are derived from 'Palettes,' which are collections of text you import or create. Each lane can slide independently in both directions, allowing you to find unique word pairings and generate inspiration.

Can I import my own text into the app?

Yes, you can import your own text sources to create Palettes. You can paste text directly, import plain .txt files from cloud services like iCloud Drive, or use the Share extension to send text from other apps. These imported texts are then converted into Palettes to populate the word sliders.

Is WordPalette free to use?

The application is free to download and use, with in-app purchases available. These purchases likely unlock additional features or content that enhance the creative writing experience, such as more Palettes or advanced customization options.

What are some common use cases for WordPalette?

Common use cases include breaking through writer's block for novels, short stories, or poetry. Songwriters can use it to find lyrical inspiration, and poets can explore cut-up techniques for experimental verse. It's also useful for anyone looking to generate unique phrases for creative projects or simply to explore new linguistic possibilities.
