Wordsmith: Learn English

Wordsmith is a spelling game where you build every word from its pieces: sounds, endings, prefixes and roots. You learn why English words are spelled the way they are, not just how. From c·a·t to tele·scope, 360 levels take you one step at a time. Every piece is read aloud. 12 worlds, 360 levels • Letters and sounds (phonics): c·a·t, sh·i·p • Vowel teams and silent letters: n·igh·t, c·a·k·e • Compound words and endings: sun·flower, jump·ing • Spelling rules: make + drop e + ing = making • Prefixes, suffixes and big words: un·help·ful·ness • Latin and Greek roots: trans·port, tele·scope Learn by building • Hear every piece and every word in a clear British or American voice. • Meaning cards show a picture, a sentence or a riddle, never the answer. • Hints explain the spelling rule, not just the move. • A Word Book keeps every word you've built, grouped by word family. Play every day • A new Daily Word in three sizes, the same for everyone. • Streaks, a daily goal and gentle reminders. • Your ink-drop companion grows as your Word Book does. For the whole family • Up to 4 players on one device, synced with iCloud. • A quick placement test lets older players skip ahead. • Suits ages 5 and up, and English learners of any age. Free to play Every world is free. Ads appear between levels. One purchase, Remove Ads, takes them away for every player on the device. Purchases and links sit behind a grown-up check.
