Worio: Learn German Vocabulary

Worio is a German vocabulary app for busy B1+ learners that shows how German words are built, so one word you learn helps you with the next. Capture words from a photo, a text or another app. Worio puts the words you need most first, in practice that fits the minutes you have. SAVE WORDS WHERE YOU MEET THEM • Share text from another app straight into Worio. • Snap a photo of a letter, a sign or a page. Worio reads the text and picks out the German words. • Paste an article, an email or a message. • Type a sentence in English and get the German words that match. • Quick Add a single word. This one works offline. EACH WORD, EXPLAINED IN ENGLISH • Nouns show their article, color-coded: der, die, das. • The word taken apart: prefix, root, separable particle and suffix. • Example sentences, and the different meanings one word can have. • A CEFR level from A1 to C2. • Tap the speaker to hear the word spoken. PRACTICE WITH YOUR OWN WORDS • Flashcards, multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank (cloze). • A short interactive story written around words from your library. • A Level Check that suggests your CEFR level. • Recap (Premium): name a show or an episode, and Worio writes a German recap with words from your library, reads it aloud and highlights each word as it is spoken. • Daily Journal (Premium): write a few lines in German every day. COMING BACK TO YOUR WORDS • A daily reminder at the time you usually practice. • A quick check on the word you are closest to forgetting. • A Home Screen widget. WHO IT IS FOR People who know the grammar and keep losing the words. You work in English in a German-speaking office, you study here, you moved for a partner's job, or you are preparing for a B1, B2 or C1 exam. Worio is not a grammar course and not a speaking coach. It is where the German you meet ends up, so it is there when you need it. Free to download. Worio Premium is a monthly or yearly subscription, and the app shows the current price.
