An abusive relationship

I understand this is an old game that hasn't been updated in forever, but the issues have nothing to do with updates. How many times do you have to try to place an item before it drops in? It makes no sense that it takes 5 or more tries. I don't know why I let it torture me. It's a cute game but the frustration level is higher than the level of fun.
