Glitchy app

I love the magazine but the app is hardly ever works right. I’m always having trouble seeing and navigating new issues.

Great Magazine; below average app

If I didn’t know what year it was, I would assume it was somewhere around 2018 if all I had to go by was the functionality and layout of this app. Please do better. Your work is too important to put out a below average app.

Do not like changes to the app

This app reminds me of why I cancelled my subscription to The Wall Street Journal last year when their new app changed for the worse. I don’t want a feed of stories - I wanty a format more like the website. Let me see and choose what I want. And then I go to the website and it freezes every time I attempt to log in.

I was asked by the developers to re-review so here goes. On my iPad the experience using the website in safari is great. The app however, is absolutely horrible. I actually cannot imagine the reading experience being any worse - its that bad. A clunky news feed with a big prompt to the next article getting in the way. If this is the best you can do your better off getting rid of the app. And clicking on the magazine link within the app just results in a black, blank page. You should be embarrassed.

World News Group is striving to become a first class, world-class news service. They are moving in the right direction. Their growth has been slower because they are careful and prayerful. Two things needed

I thoroughly enjoy your app and like the new look. There are two things I wish you would add. First, I’d like to see a scroll bar as I read an article so that I have a sense of how long the article is before I start reading it. Second, it would be nice to highlight a word sometimes to look up the definition of that word.

Landscape mode for iPads, Please

With my stroke, holding my iPad upright on my lap in a wheelchair with only one useful hand is awkward at best and disastrous at worst when it hits the floor! The best mode to read is with an iPad fitted into a keyboard attachment that I can set on my lap to read in landscape mode.

Without that ability, this app is useless to me.

App does not work

Reading the magazine is fine if you download a pdf version. But forget about reading via the app on an iPad. Some articles open, but most just take you to a wrong section where you can only see the title of the article. Click on that and and its 50/50 if you get the article or back to, in my case, the Voices section, which still only shows a heading. So confusing and frustrating. Great magazine, not so great reading experience on the app.

Good content and app, but…

Good content and app, but needs more controllability for listeners that are divers.
Please activate forward and reverse commands through external Bluetooth controls. And please activate faster 1.25x, 1.5x, 1.75x listening speeds.

WORLD Magazine ap

The ap worked well and made it easier for me to read the articles over my paper copy of the magazine. The issue I have been having since January is the ap crashes when trying to open some articles. I have reached out twice to the tech support and no response. This is why I have give. The ap a three star. I do enjoy and content. It’s a great magazine.

App doesn’t work properly after latest update

I can't access the digital magazine now on the World Magazine app on my iPad, and I have canceled my auto-renew subscription. I see the articles and magazine editions but nothing loads on the page when I click on the article or magazine. I signed out and then signed back in but still no content, and then I deleted and reinstalled the app but still can’t see magazine content. I miss the previous version where I simply browsed through the complete magazine rather than the current look.

I will miss World Magazine for it’s faithful worldview, but I can’t read what I can’t see. Please fix this app for other users who may be experiencing this issue.

Offline Inop

No more offline viewing. That was the only time I read the magazine (on airplanes). And I enjoyed it. Now: Gone. Why? Dunno but the pdf offering is a step back to the ‘90’s and, after doing it only once, I don’t have the patience to pursue it. Haven’t read it in months. I’ve waited way too long enough and I am unfortunately going to call and cancel.

We have released a new version 7.1 in the store that hopefully addresses your concerns. There are two ways to read the magazine, web or pdf version. Web version: Here you can enjoy the articles that are published on our website magazine page. Select and enjoy reading an article. At the end of the article, it will allow you to select UP NEXT to move to the next article. You can always click the back button to go back to the main page and select the article you want. PDF version: You will notice a Subscribe link on the top right if you are not logged in or PDF link if you are logged in. If you are interested in reading the PDF, select the PDF button to open it. Here you can read it in order of the actual magazine with pinch and zoom feature enabled. Download PDF: On Apple, if you wish to download it, select DOWNLOAD. This will open the magazine in your browser. Select the share icon on the top right and choose Books or any other PDF viewer app. This opens the pdf in a nice scrollable version. Here you can turn your device horizontally or vertically, pinch and zoom, bookmark your page and come back to read it later with or without internet access.

Frustrating sign in issues

Worked well at first, but constantly asks me to sign in to access articles. I do this multiple times until eventually I’m asked to subscribe rather than sign in, but I’m already a longtime subscriber. I removed app from phone and reinstalled. It worked fine for a few days but issue has returned. I’ll access website until bugs are fixed.

Bring back offline viewing and magazine experience

I like dark mode availability with the latest update, but version 5 removed several essential features I used all the time. I can no longer download the magazine for offline viewing. I can no longer read the magazine from beginning to end. Instead I have to click on each item presented in a different order from the magazine order. The app no longer remembers where I left off reading.

Thankfully I can download a PDF of the app to bypass the app going forward, but it is not a very good experience either. I will not be reading as much of the magazine due to these usability issues. Please fix, and soon!
