Great Once You Do This

I thought these were not working. Once I opened each app and restarted the iPad, all showed in AUM.

not bad

just bought this and shaper 2.
how do i save my own presets in the app?
many thanks

Not showing up in DAW

Looks awesome but won’t show up in aum/garageband/Audiobus

Complements SHAPER wonderfully

Big fan of SHAPER. The audacity of which is now perfectly complemented by the subtlety of WOV’s tremolo-ish-chorus-y-gate-ish-(but sounds nothing like any of those)-signal enhancement.

Whereas SHAPER’s UI is visually simple & makes it perfectly clear how adjustments effect your sounds, WOV is much more obscure in it’s manipulation of audio.
I choose the standard interface, not the symbols, so I can know what/how/why the sound will be modulated, yet I can’t anticipate the results I get. (It’s not a crap-shoot, technical understanding would enhance the predictability)

The dev’s intent that this interface would inspire exploration is accomplished by the effect itself. I know what knobs I’m turning but I’m still learning exactly what they’re doing to make it sound so good. (I am curious how this effect would work if confined to SHAPER’s UI; although it’s designed to rearrange modules, which is not how WOV functions.)

While it excels at subtly, yet significantly, modulating audio with constant, living, breathing movement that makes it sound alive without overpowering the source, it can also be pushed to significantly de/re-form sounds if needed.

If you buy apps to create music, invest a couple bucks in creative apps like this. This app feels like it was written like a song: it feels inspired. It has a beginning, middle & end that are well defined and each necessitates the existence of the other and produces complex results without disrupting other instruments/sounds.

(I rely on reviews when buying apps. Write more reviews - sometimes your perspective maybe the only one a person can relate to.)

Update

To be fair I think I was a bit premature in evaluating the app first time round, further along the learning curve now my opinion of it has gone up a lot. I use other apps from this developer and I’m 5 star rating those.

FAQ

What is WOV?

WOV is an Audio Unit extension (AUv3) effect for iOS that allows you to create a wide variety of sound textures, from classic tremolo to glitchy stutters. It is designed to be used within compatible host applications.

Does WOV work as a standalone app?

No, WOV is an AUv3 audio effect and requires a host app such as Garageband, AUM, Cubasis, Modstep, or Beatmaker 3 to function. It cannot be run as a standalone application.

What kind of sound textures can WOV create?

WOV can generate a broad spectrum of textures, including familiar tremolo waves, glitchy stutters, and complex amplitude modulations. Its customizable controls allow for subtle to extreme sound transformations.

How does the rate section in WOV work?

The rate section controls the speed of WOV's modulation. You can set the rate in Hertz (Hz) or sync it to your host app's tempo. The Response knob adjusts sensitivity to incoming signal volume, and Variation adds randomization to the rate.

Can I customize the waveform in WOV?

Yes, WOV offers extensive waveform customization. The Wave knob morphs between sine and square shapes, Peak controls the attack, and Warp adjusts the waveform's length or acts as a duty cycle control for square waves.

What is the price of WOV?

WOV is a paid application, priced at $5.99. This one-time purchase grants you access to all of its features and creative sound-shaping capabilities.

What devices is WOV compatible with?
