Multi-day feasts show a day counter, and each begins, as Scripture reckons it, at sunset the evening before. A new glanceable calendar card shows today's date in the liturgical colour of the season, with the day's feast or commemoration at a glance. Video that starts when you tap. Playback now begins the moment you press play and sharpens to full quality as it streams. Featured videos and the next episode in a series quietly prepare in the background, so the content you're most likely to watch starts almost instantly. Tapping a video used to wait for a high-quality stream to buffer before showing anything. Now playback begins on a fast-loading rendition and ramps up to full quality within moments — first frame appears much sooner, quality catches up invisibly. In Programs, while you watch an episode, the next one quietly prebuffers — tapping "next" starts near-instantly instead of from a cold start. The hero carousels on Home and Videos begin buffering while you're still browsing — with sensible manners: prebuffering pauses while you're actually watching something, so it never competes for bandwidth or burns data behind a playing video.
