Stop forcing the bs, we should have more control over what notifications we receive. I don’t want political updates, give me an option to filter out what I don’t want in “news”

Crash crash crash
Would love to be able to use the app and get local news but all it does is show the WPTV symbol and then crash to my home screen over and over again after I created a new user account. I just downloaded the app, this is ridiculous.
Weather alert fail
My area is currently under a tornado warning yet the weather alert section on the app only contains “red flag” beach conditions.

Needs big changes
It would be nice to watch a story highlight video without having to watch ad after ad. I just want to see a 15 second clip of breaking news, I shouldn’t have to watch 30-45 second ads for it. Also would prefer to have more control over what notifications I receive. I don’t want political updates.

"Thanks for supporting local journalism" it's NOT local... it's larger entities from abroad controlling parrots. You're only getting truth when it's related to anything that doesn't affect the narrative pushing towards a larger agenda... you want to support a "local" journalist support Tucker Carlson. That's REAL journalism that hits "HOME". These cowards will never exit their boxes. Money is their root. It's a shame these people aren't the heroes they were intended to be when their place was carved out during the formation of this country... but the app is a bit smoother... finally after a decade. And they want you to praise "them" for it!

Not crazy about the new look
You got some work to do on this new update. The app never refreshes and that’s a big problem. It shows the same stories from days earlier. Time after time. I have to hard close the app to get it to load current news.

Log in issues
Hi not sure if they updated log in but I can log in on the web browser but not in the app. Keeps telling me to try again. Other than that love the app.

The updates are never good. Huge heavy massive battery drain. The app doesn’t work on iOS 16. iOS 16 is garbage.
Very impressive
I downloaded this app just before Hurricane Ian because all other local newspaper apps require a subscription. WPTV sent out many notifications keeping us constantly informed on the storm. Great job!

The daily news summary on the Channel 5 News app, is informative and brief…something I have time to check each morning. I enjoy the format.

Insufficient Functionality
After all this time the “X” in the top left corner of every article still doesn’t work for my always updated iPhone. Nor does the article disappear if I swipe down. There is no “up” arrow for the articles so when I reach the bottom, I don’t have to scroll forever back to the top in order to press the “X” a random # of times before it finally catches. Fix all of those functionality issues and the app is 5 star, but at this stage it should work much, much better.

The best part of this app is 5 Things to Know …. I love to read On this day in history! Just wish it was an everyday item. I started using this app during the beginning of the Covid pandemic when most of the TV news was overwhelming to watch the explosion of sickness and death. This app enables me to scan the headlines and read what I choose. And it has news often I’m unable to find anywhere else easily. Thank you for a great app!
