Lynchpin for the Watch to replace the iPhone

Wristcam adds the last piece of functionality needed to go phone-free. With it, the Apple Watch finally has a camera and video calling to round out the functionality of a mobile phone! It’s ideal to leave your phone behind/packed for running, kayaking (IP68), skiing, etc…

Where have you gone Wristcam?

Sadly, camera quality isn’t as good as specified on adds, you can’t delete contacts on there (stuck with the exes face staring at me now), not enough effort gone into a weak app that could have so much potential, and finally not enough updates. Honestly hoping they are working on some improvements

Top in theory but...

The application is not at all responsive I did three surfing sessions and each time the same problem, the connection time to the app is too long. The battery time is just zero. Once the session is over, once again the connection to the network and the iPhone only rarely works you have to really be patient and start again several times. Your product is clearly not at the point of $299 for a beta it's really not normal. And finally, the bracelet is not practical and does not even support a swell does not exceed 0.7m (I almost lost it). In short, really disappointed, too bad the idea is great.

Device needs a better charging method

Only had the attachment for this app for about a year & the charging contact points had rusted off, now making this thing a $300 paperweight

Do not buy or try

I really wanted this to work. Bought and received. It no longer responds within 24 hours. I have reached out to support and have not headed back. Firmware is at less than 1.0. Wait to buy if ever. Mine doesn’t work. I can’t get a response. Very sad and out $300.

Got a quick replacement. Great service. Give it a try.

Videos don’t import

The photos and videos that I recorded on my Wristcam don’t sync off of the wrist camera to my iPhone. Such a bummer I was hoping this would work.

I wanted this to work

I fallowed development of this for years. Finally got one on Black Friday, sadly it doesn’t work.
4 main problems:

1 band comes apart, dropping $800 Watch on concrete. Happened 3 times on first day.

2 magnetic charger won’t stay on battery, just falls under own weight. ? Bad magnets?

3 not sending pix or video to phone. Have app, watch face is nice but no communication c phone for camera

4 No service. None. I started with an email- no answer. More emails, more dead air. Nothing. Nada. Sad

Fantastic but…

Early adopter here and I love wrist cam however, there’s some things you should probably look at doing. You could make a holder for the camera unit so when you’re driving a rental car, the software lets it function as a dash cam. You also need a better band for the Watch Ultra. Or maybe a camera cradle that slides onto the Ultra Velcro watchband.

Please fix this app

The app is not on my watch anymore. How does this happen? Apple you guys messed up my watch

Good but missing key feature

I would like to be able to call someone via video from my wrist, but this band only lets you record a video and send it, not talk live. When will this happen?

So far SO BAD !!!

Just got it and it worked fir 1 minute and now doesn’t connect to the applewatch !
Seems very unstable and unreliable !!

Amazing Clarity

I’ll be the first to admit the photos and videos taken with the Wristcam have far exceeded my expectations. The sharpness, the saturation are dead on. I’ve only been using the Wristcam for a couple of hours so I’m still getting used to it, but my results have been great.

Purchased wristcam 10.5.21

Not able to receive 4 digit verification code for messenger. I have the iPhone mini

Watch app not installed

I cannot install watch app. Without watch app, not much useful.
WatchOS: 7.6.1

Wow

How long have we had Apple watches? A decade? And its only just now that we get a camera band?!?

Works great! I was worried it would be too heavy for running, but I’m not sure I notice it at all frankly.

The combo of Bluetooth + WiFi for setup and transferring is a bit much, but I’m not sure there’s a way around that. Works fine regardless.

Totally impressed. Great tutorials too.

Good Camera - No Video Chat

I was very hopeful for this wristcam when I pre-ordered it and thought how great it would be to FaceTime people and leave the phone behind.

Seems like when/if they roll out the video chat in the future it will be wristcam app not FaceTime. So today you can take pictures and video but only 1080p and 720p that must be because you only have 8GB storage and you have to transfer pics and video over Wi-Fi to your phone after the wristcam is placed on it charger.

Again I like the idea but seems to be extra steps to achieve what Apple should just have built in to their Apple Watch by now.

Sweet product

Love this, so nice to take pics with Apple Watch and leave iPhone behind! Only thing that is missing is the option to have pictures be date and time stamped. This option would be perfect for people who need to take pics for work purposes. Hopefully this will be added on next update.
