Great PBS station for classical music

It’s fantastic. I donate to it.

WSHU’s Sunday Baroque

Wonderful radio station & app. ESPECIALLY because I can listen to Suzanne Bona / Sunday Baroque as often as needed. The gray, explicit headlines cry but, there is always this refuge, this music.

Love the app the only drawback is

It seems to place softer than others. I always have to turn the volume up.

Music selection, host, streaming quality compete for best parts of each day

A wonder filled audio experience everyday - grazie mille

Fantastic, thanks for the music

Great station. I listened for a long time as a kid on Long Island. Now in the Bay Area, and can still listen! Thank you!

Needs a bigger buffer!

In rural areas (of, ironically, Connecticut and eastern New York, where the radio shadows of iron laden hills block cell signals) the mobile signal is frequently briefly dropped this app needs to be able to keep playing through those signal gaps. It often does not. A larger memory buffer would help.

Perfect

Really enjoy being able to access WSHU’s offerings. Thrilled to support such a great resource.

Go To Classical

Have loved SMB for many years

Very very nice

Great app. Never had any transmission problems. It always played without any interruption.

Drops connection

Great app if it wouldn’t drop the connection multiple times when streaming live broadcasts. It’s not my phone, as this has happened on two separate iPhones. Very frustrating.

My Sunday Awakening

I just recently started listening to Sunday Baroque here in Colorado and absolutely love it! The music and the informative commentary are both stellar. Thank you for producing such a wonderful program that’s greatly appreciated by this classical music enthusiast.

Adequate

If I want to listen to live broadcasts, this is great, but I can do that on a radio. What I really want is an app where I can listen to news whenever I want, particularly local news.

If this had that function, it be my most used app. Instead, I sometimes get the local news broadcast from the NPROne App (when it appears), and otherwise read the articles here, when I have time.

Cuts out constantly

Less than the previous app but still cuts out several times a day and doesn’t reload automatically

Beautiful music, caring community

The crew at WSHU have been a reliable and valued provider of classical music & public journalism for many years. I recommend their programming to any one who wants to relax and learn about our world from responsible sources.

Has been great

I mainly use the app to stream sunday baroque when I miss it on WQED FM. For last several days I get only silence When I tap the play button on the old iPad I use as my music server. I hope the great music returns soon.

Lovely lovely Baroque music

I basically picked this up because I wanted to be able to pull up some baroque music that wasn’t full of commercials and wasn’t the same thing over and over again. I do like Amazon music and I do like Pandora but these are amazing Sunday morning presentations that they do every week. I haven’t listen to the other classical but I love to put the baroque on in the morning.

Great content, terrible app

I tried to use the app while driving from CT to NC and back. Unfortunately, it stopped streaming and did not restart so often that it was pretty much unusable. Other streaming apps were working so it was not a network issue.

Complete app

Great individual shows and NPR

love this app

I download this app because I listen a lot in my car. I always want to stay in my car after my arrival. Then I found this app settles everything. Love it!

Freezes

The music variety is a step above most US classical stations but the app itself often freezes, which requires deleting and reloading. I could do without the hourly news interruptions on weekdays, especially since they provide a separate news feed for those who require constant yakking.
