Poorly design and executed local weather app
I tested the three local weather station apps (WCNC, WSOC & WBTV) and WCNC was by far the most accurate and best designed user interface. WCNC is well designed and is enjoyable to use. WCNC is not cluttered with distracting ad’s and seems more accurate. Well done WCNC and shame on WSOC & WBTV for using a third party weather app (both are very similar) that is focused on pushing trashy ad’s like Temu and Morris Jenkins.

Weather where I am
My house is located on Jonas Ridge, NC 28641 and elevation is about 385 feet therefore I do not receive accurate temperature at my location. Sometimes Channel nine will mention Jonas Ridge temperature. But not available on channel 9 weather app.

Really Great & That’s on All levels of the weather even across the country- SanDiego, Ca. * my son is in the Navy there!🥰
They ruined it.
Now when they send you a severe weather warning and you click on the warning for the details, it sends you to a video (with an ad) you have to wait for. Before you could just click the warning and READ the information quickly to see if it was pertinent for your area and have time to take action. What an absolute joke of an app now. Moving elsewhere.

Love my WSOC APP
I absolutely love my WSOC APP. It has kept me and my family apprised of many thunderstorm warnings and even a recent tornado warning, which prompted us to take pillows, blankets, flashlights and, of course my iPhone into the most interior first floor room of our home. It was pretty packed when you added the dogs, but we would never think of not including them in our safe space. They are family. I’m going to get on my soap box here as an animal advocate and rescuer and say to all of those people who have dogs tied to a tree out in their back yards that are often just left out there with no shelter, MAYBE food and water in a scum laden bowl, IF THE ARE LUCKY…if you are not going to bring your dog(s) inside and make them part of your family, WHY DID YOU GET THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE?
It’s a documented, scientific fact that dogs have feelings and unconditional love for their humans. You can harm them over and over and although they have no idea why, their only goal in life is to please you. They may mean nothing to you, but to them, you are their person, their whole life. If you’re not going to make them a part of your family, PLEASE TAKE THEM TO A NO-KILL SHELTER AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE TO FIND A FOREVER HOME WITH A FAMILY WHO WILL MAKE THEM PART OF THEIRS!! 🐕🦮🐕🦺. Sorry, WSOC for spring boarding off your review, but hopefully 🤞 🙏🏼 my words might get through to even just one person and one dog 🐶 might get a new family.
Again, the WSOC APP is definitely one you need to add to your phone immediately. Whether iPhone or Android, you’ll get updates, live radar, etc. All the things you need to keep you and your loved ones safe in any kind of weather!!

Weather reporting not consistent.. especially on weekends. I don’t want a video from 13 hours ago. I don’t mind 4 or 5 hours ago. Way too many video advertisements! Very frustrating.

Best radar feed for the weather geek I am ! And I have tried them all. Alert function is zip specific so I don’t get alerts from a distant local.
Something Changed
I used to rely heavily upon this app for my daily Weather checks as well as severe weather updates. Over the last month or so I noticed that it rarely functions properly. We recently had some severe weather come through my area and the app provided little to no information. The radar showed absolutely nothing and was not functioning. Not sure what changes were made recently, but I’m definitely uninstalling and choosing something more reliable.

Born and raised in the Charlotte metro area. WSOC-TV Weather is the FIRST to have a local Doppler radar. National Weather Service has Charlotte in a radar black hole because of the lay of the land from the foothills through the Piedmont. WSOC-TV has been my GO TO weather and news source since the late 1970’s. I trust them that much. I survived Hurricane Hugo thanks to them even though they lost their television transmission tower

Way off lately
The forecast shown on app doesn’t even come close to match their live, and video recorded forecast.

It’s too confusing, most of the time. I don’t want videos from yesterday or last week. Want to click the news.. half the time it doesn’t work. Commercials too many. Thinking of changing stations. Too, bad, I like the meteorologists
Interrupts phone calls
I am deleting this app today! This app keeps interrupting my phone calls over and over and you cannot hear the other person speaking! It could be your father’s last dying breath and words, and it will interrupt what they are saying and you can never get that back again! I am over this!

Don’t rain on my road
So many times when it is raining in Rock Hill City on our road it doesn’t. Like the storm yesterday, my daughter lives in town just a couple of blocks from the fountain, poured down at her house didn’t rain at all here. So funny we say it don’t rain on Dunlap Roddey Rd. It like stopes at the end of our road , maybe a few yards will get some but not many. This happens a lot. But got some last night. LOL
