A station supporter

The radio station itself is fantastic. I listen to them frequently and donate when I can. The most recent versions of their app have been problematic, however. (as of 4/21/‘25 +-) Very slow to load, sometimes over a minute, and now the playlist, a prime function of the app, will not update. There are some other minor issues also, but I can tolerate them.

The new app is garbage

I love this radio station. I listen from Atlanta all the time. The new app “ upgrade” is terrible. Takes forever to load and does not work with car play that I can tell.

Best music

This is hands down the best radio station period. I am constantly discovering performers who I never hear anywhere else !!!

Simple and elegant

Does exactly what it needs to do. Not cluttered with stupid extras. TMD is the best.

Pretty good app, fantastic station

We moved away and truly miss the DJ’s and programming. Musically, if have any taste, then you already know.
Rob, Alex, both Bob’s, Carrie and all the DJ’s rock.
The app…it will stop periodically and randomly. Mostly when in our cars, but a quick restart and we’re good for another 20 minutes.

Not great for streaming in car

I enjoy WTMD music and stream WTMD at home and in the car from Florida. The problem is I have to restart the app and press play every time I start the car, even if I just stopped for a minute. I don’t have this problem with other music streaming apps. I’ve sent feedback through the app but never get a response.

Keeps me connected to the Baltimore Sound

Great looking interface. I love that the iPad version will also run on my M2 MacBook Air. I lived in the DC Metro area for 30 years and now I live in RVA. We have great public radio in Richmond, but it's so great to spend time listening to WTMD. Keeps me connected to the great Baltimore sound!

Great station and evolving app

This is a well-designed app, especially given that this is a nonprofit station. You have easy access to two station options in the app, and you can view the playlists to discover new songs and new artists, which I’ve found helpful. You can also donate from within the app (wink, you should). The app has improved over the years. I’m happy to support my local station.

Good station.

Went from being an underground (literally) 60w college station to a 'commercial free' station playing good music & providing music/art events in the Baltimore DC area.

App improves Streaming

Such a pleasant surprise! App displays track/artist info on my older (no Airplay) Toyota! So glad I bothered to d/l after several previously “meh” experiences with radio streaming apps. Thanks, WTMD, for a premium experience!

So nice to see what song they just played. Love the music variety and the promotion of local music.

Good App, Horrible Compression

This is a great app. It’s a shame that it’s completely useless for anyone within the FM broadcast range. If you can tune into the station over radio, you’ll experience far better audio quality than the internet stream, even listening through terrible speakers. I’ve tried with multiple different devices running both the app and web page streams, and the low end (drums, bass) gets crushed to almost nothing (due to the internet live stream compression) even compared to bootleg YouTube uploads of the same songs. I can only really recommend the experience if using the radio is out of the question.

YES!!!

Love WTMD. Love this app. I can listen all around as I travel. Even listen in while I chat as relatives in Canada also listen. Can have a family affair and enjoy great music and great variety. 5 stars from me and mine👍
