Horrible app with auto start videos you can’t stop
The auto start videos are terrible, no longer my favorite news app
1 star until we can disable auto play!
Want to regret trying to be informed by selecting a story? Use this app. You are immediately assaulted by a video without any controls - you can’t pause, you can’t mute, just BOOM, video vomit. Advertisers are just wasting their money because all it makes us do is hate them and their products. Give us an option to turn off auto play or at least some controls once the assault has begun, or kiss this user goodbye.

More ads than news
When you open a news story the ad video autoplays with sound and is very obnoxious. The page is riddled with ads and only a small amount of the page contains news. The information given in the article is very brief. This app is more about the ads than the news. I’m deleting it now.
Loud Audio and Autoplay Is Awful!
They have ruined a decent app for some local information by the audio autoplay feature. Just stay in your lane and try to provide useful reasonably unbiased information!

I think your new app is terrible. Why did you have to change it? You can’t find anything on it. You should’ve left the old app better it was easier to find things. I think it stinks. I’m fixing to change to a different news channel.
Automatically playing sound at startup
Tired of opening news app and getting blasted out of my mind with sound from whatever WVLT is trying to push. I just wanted to read the news. Take away the pop up sound and video at startup please or elsewhere I go! Please stop Royal Match and Car Match!

I’ve had this app for years, but I’m deleting. I open the app and
an ad is blaring. Can’t close the ad. Don’t need the aggravation.

Old app less swipes.
I don’t like how I can’t swipe to the next story. Instead it’s necessary to back up, click the next story, back up, etc. Overall, the old app is better and more efficient.
Automatically plays videos
I have auto play videos turned off on my iPhone but this app overrides it. I might be reading an article and a video blares out an ad etc.

Honestly, do you have an extremely young person writing your notifications? Someone who wants to be an influencer? For the same stories, I receive multiple notifications from local, national, and international sources. Out of all of those, WVLT is literally the ONLY one that gives ZERO details. Just obscure titles “urging” me to open the story. Guess what?! It makes me NEVER click on them. Your network has become a clickbait joke to me. Have some nerve and actually put some details in a notification. People might just read them. Hire an adult who actually cares about the news, not just clicks.

Right now the democrats will not pass a continuing resolution and millions are without SNAP benefits however, you dont report that. You dont report about the young white girl being stabbed to death by a black man in a racial hate crime. You are not reporting all the news. You report how Trump’s war on tariffs are hurting the country but when a deal is made….nothing. Please stop brainwashing people and start doing your jobs!!!!
