About

Founded by a Maxillofacial Surgeon with a subspecialty interest in temporomandibular disorders (TMD), the XEDAQ app will be your companion for all things TMJ. HOW DOES IT WORK? The XEDAQ app acts as your support mechanism for TMJ issues throughout your day to day life. It includes a number of features that can help you navigate the ups and downs of living with chronic jaw pain and dysfunction including: - Short videos, audio files and articles that you can access for information - Simple questionnaires for scoring your symptoms on a day to day basis - Validate questionnaires to assessing your pain, jaw issues and associated mood - An ability to store this information to guide consultations - Information to put you in the driving seat when speaking to healthcare professionals about your TMJ issue - Expert listings for specialists near you HOW DO I START? At the outset you list your symptoms and content will be streamlined according to your needs and issues, recommended for you. You can track your symptoms on a daily basis, access content and look for help nearby. WHAT IS THE CONTENT? You can access just 5-10 minutes each day, introducing you to a range of information about TMJ issues with contributions from: - Harriette Haig, a Physiotherapist and member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Temporomandibular Disorders (ACPTMD) with an interest in TMD - Dr Richard Bennett, a Psychologist and proponent of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy - Mr Ross Elledge, a Consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and founder of the XEDAQ app with a subspecialty practice in TMJ surgery Invited contributors will include: - Rheumatology - Dietetics/nutrition - Surgeons - Pain Medicine specialists Content created focuses on self-help exercises, reframing thoughts surrounding chronic pain, myth busting and much more. Added the ability to contact doctors by going to the expert list view, followed by the expert detail view and should the expert have an email associated with their account, they should be able to book with the expert, which will send an email to them with the details of the patient adds to their request.
