XON Episode Four User Reviews

Game breaking glitch

Within a large sphere, there’s an elevator in the shape of a ring that can go up and down. If you summon it down when it’s above you, you can step into its path and it will clip you into the ground where you can’t escape. No way to rollback or revert. Hours of gameplay lost.

A different game

I bought all the series and impressed with the colourful imagination by this developer. The tasks were unusual to start with but you soon got into the wider area and saw the potential for learning and understanding about this world. Yes some tasks were tedious as in frustrating but Im glad I stuck with it and is one of my favourite games. Many years later still !

Amazing

Such fantastic graphics, game controls are awesome! Just captivates and hard to put down! Have played all four XON games several times hoping you all would build XON 5! PLEASE!

Absolute Masterpiece Part Four

The only negative thing I can say about this game is that it is the last in the series. All 4 chapters of XON are spectacular in their own way, and these guys are absolute masters at creating beautiful mega-puzzles that are laid out across vast landscapes. It’s such a rush to solve these incredible puzzles.

Moving in a circle.

I got dizzy rotating around in circles. The instructions for moving around don’t make sense. Arrows? There are none. A total waste of money. 1 star is being generous.

The best of the best. Please make more.

I did this after finishing myst and riven, and it is as wonderful as they are. The main difference is that myst has a sort of storyline (more like a soap opera) running through the whole thing, whereas this leaves it to your imagination to figure out who you and why you're there. Also, and you may or may not like this, there are no handwritten journals to read in the con series. (I have a limited tolerance for having to remember who did what to whom and who needs what in order to gain world domination -- there's a reason I prefer game playing to socializing with humans) this game had a quirky little not in each chapter, except 4 - or else I never found that one. But otherwise you just figure it all out as you potter around. I adore the ambience and the lack of pressure. Once you solve a puzzle it says solved, switches stay switched. No need to race around in time limits. I really really wish you'd make more chapters.

Oh and what the heck is that final sound effect? I made it replay the last scene again just to experience those last few seconds. Hilarious.

Kudos to the creator. Best entertainment ever.

Love it!!!!

I loved the entire series. The only other game series that comes close are “The Room” and “The Eyes of Ara”. The only problems are that XON has set such a high bar that all other games are boring and lacking and that it is finished.

The length of the game is great, the controls are fantastic as well as the graphics. Figuring out what to do is the perfect combination of hard and doable.

Please, please come out with another episode.

So good!

Admittedly I didn’t play this for a spell because it was quite hard to figure out a certain area. Hint (it has a lot to do with what you see from where you stand)

Anyway this is such a great game. I don’t know why it hasn’t been updated for newer devices though. Or why they haven’t made more of these games.

If you like Myst and The Room, you will like this too. !!!!!!
If you make more of these games you can have more of my 💵💰

Seems not to respect ipad orientation?

When I play this, it’s upside down. I can’t get it to rotate the direction of my device. This is bad because it means the volume buttons are down, which causes unexpected things. Only me?

Love the game but please fix the iPad bug

On my iPad the game shows upside down when the home key is on the right. That’s the natural orientation for iPads with covers. Please fix! Can’t be that hard.

Otherwise: love it!

FANTASTIC!!!

I finally finished this episode & it was most definitely the best of the series! The graphics and puzzles were so well done, my only regret is that there are no more chapters to look forward to. THIS is the type of game I yearn for. My only regret is I hadn’t discovered these sooner. Bravo!!

Great Finale, Great Series

Finally got around to playing this episode, the last in the four episode series. This is also an excellent standalone game. Everything is fantastic (visuals, sound design, gameplay mechanics and gameplay evolution) just as with all the previous games. Imo, this one is cooler. A few of the puzzles were difficult (obtuse) so I did go to the dev’s hint page to get help, but it didn’t spoil the fun at all. I’m replaying them all now and I recommend starting with Episode One and playing through the series in order. That lets you really appreciate all the dev’s effort, creativity and hard work. Note this: I played two episodes on an iPhone 6 and two episodes on an Android tablet; both played beautifully. Highly recommended!!

January 2020 Edit: Replaying this episode now and it’s still great!

Great Game

I have all four XON games, and love them all! The clues for this game are a little tougher than the other three. I anxiously am waiting for XON 5, but I suspect four may be the last one. :-(

Waste of money

This game is absolutely terrible it reminds me off the early computer games it’s limited and has no purpose I deleted it after 10 min

Xon 4.

This held my interest enough to hope for a Xon 5 but at the moment I understand nothing is yet in the works. Having played from 1 to 4 I would now like a more story based game where I have goals to complete. That said I still recommend the entire series. The quality of the games belies the price.

Dull

Easily the weakest of the four. This episode is just tedious mazes and endless going around in circles.

Loved this game

Challenging, awesome game with stunning visuals and a logical progression of clues.

Very Badly Written Compared to Others

A very poorly written program, unlike the others in the series. On the iPad Pro 9.7" it has been implemented only for left handed users, and the resolution is set too high so that the main menu system is not available when you are using the game. Neither can be changed by the user, and both are issues already reported and ignored by the software company as of time or writing. A sad end to what was a nice run of playable games. Maybe they will correct the issues (shame it wasn't play tested on the iPads before it was published), or maybe they'll the taking the money and running. Only time will tell.

Beautiful, not compelling

I played the other three Xons, but stopped this one about two hours in. It wasn't the difficulty - who cares about how hard it is? Just watch a walk through if you have to. What's missing here is that this game is not compelling in the least, and I'm not sure why. You're repeatedly faced with one difficult puzzle after another, but don't feel compelled to solve it. I don't know how to fix that.

Great game but why no screen rotation?

Have played episodes 1-3 (brilliant) and this looks equally good buy why won't episode 4 allow me to play this the right way up — i.e. with the home button to the right — so I can use the iPad stand? This was properly implemented in the previous chapters! 5 stars when this is sorted...
