Create route snap to path doesn’t work

I have been using this app for years, planning my routes using snap to path, but within the past few weeks this function has stopped working despite paying for a premium subscription. Seems to only work off line.

Getting to grips with Xplorer after Active20

I’ve been loyal Satmap customer for many years fist with Active10 then Active20. Now touring USA and trying out the App on my iPhone. Bought and downloaded the N&S Dakota map but could not get the trip function and the snail/trail to work. Now in Colorado. Offloaded map and bought Colorado. Once installed the App functions perfectly including trip and snail-trail. Very similar functionality to the old Satmap gps hardware. Battery life good. The only thing I’ve yet to work out is how to display a route altitude profile or the profile of the trip.

Grid Location useless if you’re outside GB

“What’s my grid location” does not work if you are outside GB.
I live in N.I. and therefore this function is useless to me. As I am sure it would also be for anyone in Europe if further afield.
I don’t understand why they don’t fix it. Otherwise this is a super app

App has great features but crashes regularly

Bought as I’m a 4x4 driver and wanted a specific set of features which Satmap Xplorer offered sadly bought maps for entire UK but have had issues with app operation, zooming, forgetting maps I had downloaded and trashing. Developer tried to help but no solution could b found that fit my needs. Gave up and now back using other apps. Hoping future updates cure my issues and developer honours what I paid for.

2 stars as it has some great features.

Developers don’t respond to emails

I only installed this app because I got an email from them promising that I’d be able to use my purchased O.S. maps within it. Despite several emails to the suggested email address over a month, nothing! No reply, no enabling of my maps! Waste of time, effort and storage.

Satmap GPS

Been a Satmap user for years now using the Satmap App,it’s far too complicated and not user friendly… not user index.
When using the GPS fails also cannot keep up… will keep trying very frustrating system

Can’t crest account

Unable to create an account in my iPhone. After putting in my information, I can’t scroll down to the create button - if the keyboard is open, it obscures the create button. If the keyboard is closed, the create button is below the visible area of screen and unreachable.

Flaky app

I’ve been trying to use it for several weeks now on my new iPhone 12. It hardly ever works first time. Constantly have to reboot the iPhone to sort out this app. How can a responsible company deliver such rubbish.

Response from developer

We are sorry to hear that you are having problems. What are you finding that doesn't work? There should be nothing about the app that requires the phone to be rebooted. Please can you send us more detail and we would be happy to help - The Satmap Team

Doesn’t Work too Well

I downloaded the app and can access it ok with my email and password but I can’t login to my Satmap account to view it, or subscribe. Not a great start.

Response from developer

Please can you elaborate more? When you say that you cannot login to your Satmap account, on which platform are you trying to log in? Xpedition2 and Xplorer use the same credentials, so these should work on both platforms - The Satmap Team

couldn’t create an account to use the app …

Couldn’t create an account on the app or on the web. App duly deleted

Response from developer

The sign-up process is a matter of supplying your name, email and password. You should receive an email with a confirmation link. After clicking the link, the sign-up process is complete, you should be able to log in and use the app. If you already have an Xpedition2 account, you don't need a new account, just use your Xpedition2 email/password - The Satmap Team

Sign up issues

Despite following the signup instructions it was impossible to create an account. So after 5 attempts and almost throwing my phone at the wall I removed the app. There are many other apps that are easier to sign up to with great interfaces and cheaper subs. Avoid !

Response from developer

We are sorry that you experienced difficulties signing up. Did you contact us so that we could assist? The process is supposed to be straight forward, but we are happy to help if you encounter difficulties - The Satmap Team

Familiarity for existing users

I was initially confused when logging in for the first time but when I entered my Xpedition2 details it was all familiar to me. It is very similar to other satmap software but feels more up to date. At first I couldn’t see my subscriptions but I was looking in the wrong screen. I was pleased that my old favourite routes could be loaded, but it didn’t show the entire route at first, but I could zoom out to see it. It’s great to finally have the Satmap programme on my phone.

Ad Removal

Took a subscription out to remove the ads and enlarge the screen. Ads removed but the screen has stayed the same, just a blank black area where the ads used to be, not what I was expecting.

Response from developer

The blank area remains in order to aid users who have on-screen controls that overlap with app buttons. This blank area can be adjusted or removed by tapping it and reducing the "screen offset buffer" down to zero - The Satmap Team

can’t create an account

I tried a few times to create an account and appeared to get stuck in a “create a new account loop.” The help wasn’t much help, tried everything & got nowhere, deleted.

Response from developer

By supplying your name, email and password on the sign-up form, you should have received an email with a confirmation link. Clicking on the link in the email will complete the process, and you should be able to log in and use the app - The Satmap Team

absolutely useless if you can’t create an account!

How do you create an account? Won’t accept my email or doesn’t it like my password, which? The help (?) doesn’t tell you what the parameters for passwords are!

Response from developer

Hi - Apologies - we will add some help detail. The only password requirements are 8-16 characters - that's all. There is hover text on the Xpedition2.com website, but we'll replicate that on the App. Thanks for the feedback, always appreciated - The Satmap Team
